Robert, hi.
What started in an idle moment of looking up the Bigg history has turned into mammoth sessions on the computer ! You've helped a great deal since, although I knew my Grandfather (Thomas b.1874, m. Rhoda Rebecca Dawbin 1896, d. 1964, Harpenden) - I knew nothing about his parents and neither did my father. What my research has doen, though, is to determine that our family who lived in Harpenden are related to those who live in Kimpton; something I've always thought but never known. I'm stuck on my grandmother's mother - called Fanny. There's no surname - alway tricky ! - and I spent ages looking through christening records for Kimpton around 1821. I think I went screen-blind at around 2 this morning, so will try again !
