The only connection i know about in my family is that my mother had said that one of my Dad's relatives had gone into WWI and never was heard from again in the USA.
But, she also had said that someone thought he had a post in the queens court.
I have never found anything to verify this.
This relative was born in Rooks County, Ks, USA
Cindy Kindall
Norton,Ks
USA

Actually I think it's an old English name--I have some Bigge ancestors and they all come from England. They lived in what is called the "Weald" of Kent, in towns named Benenden and Tenterden and other villages in the area. This line can be traced way back into the 15th century.

It's entirely possible that "Bigge" comes from an old Saxon name, so it would be "German" in that sense--but in my family it is strictly English!!

John Bigge b. ca.1606

Bob,
Do you have information on any Bigges other than the ones listed on your database? I'm hoping it isn't up-to-date. I'm searching for information on John Bigge b. ca. 1606. I don't know a place of birth. John died sometime between 1694 and 1696 in Norfolk Co., VA. I have seen two different women listed as his wife and mother of his children. They are Johanna Sawyer and Joan Norsworthy. John Bigge had the following ten children: John, Thomas, Ann, Johannah, Katherine (b. 1655 d. 1727 Norfolk Co., VA), Elizabeth, Jean, Phoebe, Dorothy and Jabez. If you have any information regarding this family or think there may be a connection with your Bigges, please respond.
Thanks, Debi
