Searching for my Biggs family from 1820's in possibly
Sherness (?) England, but could be anywhere.

William or Edgar Biggs ran away from home at the age of 14 and stowed away on a ship bound for either Cape of Good Hope or Maine, USA.

He arrived in Maine, USA and was adopted by the captain of a ship. His name now would be William or Edgar McLellan.
A popular and prestigious family of Maine, USA.

He was my 2x great-grandfather. I don't know where to look, but I know he was born in England, and possibly a place called "Sherness" (?) or maybe not there.

I have a lot of info on him from my end, but I'm searching for his family and my extended family in England.
