HI I AM TRYING TO PROMOTE BIGGS MEN, REGARDLESS OF WHICH FAMILIES IN AMERICA TO DO Y-DNA TESTS. THE Y-DNA TEST CONSISTS OF THE Y CHROMOSOME BEING PASSED FROM FATHER TO SON.
I HAVE MADE AN OFFER TO ANY MALE WITH PAPERWORK BACK TO THE BIGGS FAMILY IN CRAVEN CO NC, THAT I WILL PAY FOR THE Y-DNA TEST. IT COSTS ABOUT $ 150.00. I DONT KNOW WHERE THE JOHN BIGGS, IN THAT COUNTY'S 1718 TAX LIST, CAME FROM AND IT'S POSSIBLE HE HAS KINSHIP TO JAMES BIGGS d 1767/8 CURRITUCK CO NC, MY 5th GT GP THAT I DONT KNOW WHERE HE CAME FROM EITHER.
THE TEST DOESNT HURT, JUST THREE SWABS OF THE INNER [MOUTH] CHEEK, AND SEND IN THE SAMPLES. I HAVE BEEN USING "FAMILY TREE DNA" TO DO THE TEST TO TRY TO KEEP RESULTS TOGETHER.
THERE IS ALSO A TEST FOR FEMALES, BUT WITH A NAME CHANGE AT EVERY MARRIAGE I DONT SEE MUCH HELP, EXCEPT MAYBE IN CERTAIN CASES. DAN BIGGS biggsidahofalls@aol.com
