An interesting anecdote from Tsekouras's family history related to Barbara by Willie J. Biggs in Luling, related to him by Miles Monroe Biggs:
"We were preparing to eat and there came a rider and a knock at the door. I asked the stranger what he wanted and he said, lodging for the night and feed for his horse. We took care of his horse and settled down to eat. I asked him what he was known by and he replied, 'Just call me Wes'. I told him our names and then we all went to bed. If a man couldn't pay for his night's stay he was still welcome but the man tossed me a gold piece. He was leaving and turned around and asked me, 'Mr. Biggs do you know who I am?' I said, 'Well you told me it was wes'. He said, 'Yes sir, it's Wes, John Wesley Harden and you are a good man, Mr. Biggs.' John Wesley Harden and others were very notorious genmen and outlaws. This man had a $500 bounty on his head and my great great grandfather (Miles Monroe) said that he was a better man than the posse that was after him."
