Re: Plackford Israel Bigler Mystery

I think his name should be Israel Blackford and that his father was John Israel Blackford (1798-1855)and his mother was Maria (Mariah) Bigler. Maria was Jacob G Bigler sister that died in 1840. The oldest child was Thaddeus Warsaw Israel Blackford 1833-1855, next Mary Ellen Israel Blackford 1835-1836, next Israel. I think when his mother (Maria) died he went to live with his grandmother, Sussana Ogden Bigler and uncle,Jacob G Bigler. He may of been burried at Winter Quarters near his grandmother in 1850.

Abraham Bigler (1819-1903) is our Phillip's younger brother. Their parents were Simon Bigler,Jr. & Rebecca Miller. The York County Historical Society has information on this genealogy.

My quest is to learn the maiden name of Phillip's second wife Margaret (our great-grandmother). Is it Sulton? Sutton? Fields? Mainard? If you find anything, please let me know. Many thanks.

vcspence

I wonder who knows of any other "Beverly Bigler" that the book might have been named after.

The book may have some connection to Racine, Wisconsin.

I'm wondering if this William F Bigler could be the brother of Charles Bigler, b. Saxony, Germany abt. 1834 these two seem to have shown up in Minnesota around the same time. The earliest I have Charles is 1860 Wright co. Minnesota. I know some Biglers moved on to North Dakota however it appears these Biglers or Bieglers were from Russia.

There were Bigler or Biegler family living in Hennipen & Wright counties of Minnesota, the earliest I have found 1860 into the early 1900's. I have a Charles Bigler, 25 yrs old, born Saxony, Germany on the 1860 census, Frankfort township, Wright Co. Minnesota. Charles shows up on the 1870 census, Rockford township, Wright co. MN. married to a Ernestine born Prussia, Germany about, 1837. The 1880 census, Charles & Ernestine Bigler are living in Hennipen co.Minnesota with children. Family Bigler history has a mention of the Bieglers first going to Wisconsin after immigrating to the US. The branch I am researching then settled in Minnesota. The German names on census, can have some pretty strange spellings, since the census takers most likely had a hard time understanding the German accents or did they know the correct spelling.

Many family group sheets for Jacob G. Bigler's first wife was Mary Ann Boggess, whom he married in 1841. Their son was Alonzo Harrison Bigler. Mary Ann died in 1842 and Jacob G. did not marry Amy Lorette Chase until 1844 in Nauvoo, Illinois.

So where is this Plackford Israel Bigler coming from?

My Henry no one has any info on....at least no one I can find. His wife is Ida May Miller. She was (b) Ohio. They had 2 children. I believe the census says she had 3 births and 2 living. The children were (b) St George, Utah. Henry (d) in Nov 1920. I just can not find WHERE!! I would appreciate any info you can provide...
Thanks

Lynette

Do you have the "Bigler Book"? It covers the Bigler's in Utah fairly well. If not, let me know because I have a copy and can look it up on Saturday. There was a Henry Bigler listed in the late 1800's. I kept finding him and had to separate him from my Henry Bigler. That one owned a Tavern I think in Phil. Let me know if any of this matches and I can look through my stuff on Saturday. ~B

We have a problem. I researched through the Bigler Book and it has a ton of information on Henry W. Bigler. All his information came from Henry's journal. Here's what it says: Henry W. was married twice. First to Cynthia Jane Whipple on November 18, 1855. Their children were: Elizabeth Jane; Charles William; Henry Eugene; Jacob Edwin; Emeline Elvira. Second marriage was to Eleanor Parthena Emmett on March 6, 1878. Their children were: Maude; Eleanor; Edna; Adelbert; Ivy. There's no other Henry. So, where did you get your information from? There's a lot of really bad information listed on the internet. There were several other Jacob G. Biglers out there. How do you know that your Henry is from Utah? There's a Bigler line in Pennsylvania and in Virginia. If Ida was from Ohio, I would think PA would be more likely. If you are sure about Utah, then it has to be someone elses son Henry. There were several of them. I'll loo further in the Bigler Book and see if I can find a Henry married to an Ida.

Friedrich Wilhelm Bigler

I am looking for anyone who finds this man's name familiar. I have concluded that Mr. Bigler was 'passing through' Minnesota in the mid 1860's. Doing extensive research the Bigler sur name does not show itself anywhere in MN. This man married Caroline Mielke on 3/22/1868 in Sibley Co. MN. The couple had one child, Gustav Bigler. When Gustav is 3 yrs. old Caroline marries another man under her Maiden name of Mielke. Friedrich Wilhelm Bigler did not die in any of the county's surrounding Sibley Co. I can only assume he just 'left' for parts unknown.
If anyone can place a Bigler relative in this area during the early 1860's please let me know.

Please check this message if you have a William Fredrick Bigler in you line. You may be unaware that this man spent some time in MN.
According to his child's birth certificate, William Fredrick Bigler was born in Germany. I have no birth or death info. on him. He arrived in MN, married on 3/22/1868 in Sibley Co., fathered child Gustav on 3/10/1870, and then promptly disapeared. His wife remarried under her maiden name in 1872.
His wife was born in 1852. At this point I can only assume that William was about the same age, but have no way knowing.
Any leads to finding this man would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find parents and siblings for Simon Bigler. What I know is that Simon married Rosanna Hocker and eventually settled in Pulaski County IN. He was born about 1836 in BAvaria/germany. Rosanna died about 1872ish and they had 4 girls. All 4 girls list PA as their birthplace. Does this sound familar to anyone, or does anyone have a Simon missing in their family that you think may be my Simon.

Henry Eugene and Henry (my line) have the same father...different mothers. Henry William Bigler had 2 marriages. First to Whipple and second to Eleanor. I just found that information. So there were 12 kids in total (I think) for Henry W Bigler. It is his son Henry (mother Eleanor) that I am trying to find. I spoke with a 96 year old man today that is the granson of Henry W Bigler. He knew the second batch of kids well....except my Henry...go figure! He also has tried to research him with no luck....so, if you or anyone else can tell me where my Henry died in 1920, I would be very grateful!
Lynette

I have searched all the online databases I can possibly find. Henry Bigler father of Frances and Thruman Bigler died (where?) in 1920. Wife Ida May Bigler found in 1920 census with no children and no husband but listed with her sister in SLC, Ut. Trying to now document that he is the right Henry Bigler son of Henry W Bigler in St George Utah. Frances and Thurman were (b) St George, 1905 and 1909 respectively.

Do you have any information? I am at a loss...

Lynette
