Looking for information on John Bignell, War of 1812, British Navy or Army, deployed on Lake Ontario, arrived in country about 1814 or 1815, near end of war with group of commrades, deserted and crossed lake, arriving safely in Monroe County NY. Where he later met Jane Spratt an Irish Immigrant, and married. Then after living in NY for a few years, traveled west with the family and settled in Oakland County, West Bloomfield, Michigan.
