Los Angeles Times, April 6, 1914:

VALUABLE LANDS.

August Bila of this city, thirteen years ago, secured an option on 440 acres of oil land, near the San Bernardino-Orange county line, agreeing to pay $45 per acre for the property. Before closing the option he went to Mexico and remained there seven years, returning here some time ago. Meanwhile the property has become valuable as oil land and he now seeks to enforce the option, which still stands of record against the property, which is owned by F. H. Rowley and other of Los Angeles. A suit has been filed here by Bila.
