Hi,

just read your posting and wanted to touch base with you regarding the Bilbo's of Texas and Calcasieu Parish, LA.

I am from the family of James Oliver Bilbo, father of former Governor Theodore G. Bilbo and I am doing research on the Bilbos who traveled from Mississippi and into Louisiana and Texas. My main focus is, however, on a different family by the name of "Askew" who, in the mid 1800's married into the James Oliver Bilbo family.

I survey cemeteries and am gathering as many Bilbo tombstones as I can. Early next year, I will be traveling over to Calcasieu Parish and further into Houston to take more tombstone photos of yet another family line. From what Ms. Ray cited in her work, she claims that part of the 'original' Bilbo family came down and into MS but headed westward but, some, returned back into the MS area.

Please, e-mail me is you would like and we could possibly share information: ks011201@gmail.com.
