I have located a Byles family History in the Library of Congress. I do not know the details but I have ordered it through the Free Library.

Also as an Update: My Grandfather George's Honorable Discharge from the Navy after WWI shows him as being born in Brooklyn, NY 11/23/1889. Also he served on the USS Olympia (1917) and the Alameda (1920-22). He was wounded and received a pension for the rest of his life (1960). His death certificate lists these wounds as the cause of death?

Also: Along with his family he performed as a singer in Vaudeville.
