I wonder if anyone could give me Thomas Biles correct lineage from his father. He was born abt.1746 and was either born in North Carolina or moved there. It has been speculated that Charles Biles was either his father or grandfather. William Biles and Jopanna Hellard may have been his great grandparents. His ancestors were Josia Biles and ALexander I and Alexander II I just do not knopow the correct order. Any hel[p would be appreciated.

Marion Biles of Greene, NY, granddaughter of John Biles

In 1904 and 1914, two of my family members responded to letters from John Biles. I'm pretty sure that this is the same John Biles who authored "How Green Was Our Valley", and the letters were sent out as part of his family research. We are a different line, but two of my ancestors responded to John's letters. Years later, transcriptions of these responses were provided given to my cousin by Marion Biles (granddaughter of John Biles) Marion was in DC doing research, and stopped in to visit by cousin in Charles County.
I'm trying to find out if the actual letters written by my ancestors are still in existence with someone in John's line. The letters were from Abram Biles (dated 1904) and from Rev. Charles A. Biles (dated 1914) I would love to get copies of the actual letters if they are still around.

Can anyone help? I've spent the past three years researching this line and copies of these letters would be a wonderful addition to my research.Abram was my great-great grandfather's brother and Charles was Abram's cousin.

Thanks.

My father passed away in 1996. His given birth name was Thomas LeRoy Singleton. Just before he passed he ran across his original birth certificate. His birth certificate stated it was a multiple live birth ? I started researching this with him and we found my father's mother, Erma Mitilda Founds (Singleton) had been married previously(at age 15) to a Dan Jones.
My father's mother was quite an unusual person. We believe she sold my father's twin or at best gave it to someone, perhaps to evenly distribute the marriage goods. As I said, Erma Mitilda was at best a strange bird. I ran across a connection to a Bernard Biles while doing this research.
Does any of this sound familiar or hook up with information you've ran across??

Myrtice's daughter was the mother of Jack B Biles. Sooo, Jack is the son of Herbert Sr's neice and adopted by Herbert at birth - confusing.

My sister asked me to check the ancestry of Jack which was curious, and in poor health.

Allan
