The 1899 date is pretty close. I have a Great Great Uncle named John Bilkey who would have come to American in that time period. However, his father's name was Richard Bilkey and he was married to a Mary Dowa (spelling may not be consistent). My email address is rich.bilkey@gmail.com. I have some information; John was born in Truro, Cornwall. I made had the spelling of Truro misspelled. My grandfather who was born near marquette was born in 1902 which would have made his father, Daniel Bilkey 32 at the time of his birth.

Rich, thanks for the note. It's been quite awhile since my post. Can you be more specific on which John Bilkey as there are seven in my tree (1703, 1744, 1798, 1809, 1858, 1899, 2001). I've added a lot of information to my tree on www.genesreunited.com and will update it here on www.ancestory.com at some point when I subscribe again. My Father's name is Richard and there are 3 other Richards in my tree (c.1700 and two c. 1734). Based upon your UP comment and date of post, I'm thinking it was early in the process and maybe my Grandfather or Great Grandfather. Anyway, maybe we can find a connection if you want to send me the household members of your furthest Bilkey ancestor in Cornwall. Maybe include your e-mail address so we can communicate offline.

There probably is a connection somewhere. I do not have all the information on the English side as yet. Just started working on this line for a friend a few weeks ago and having fun documenting it. If you find a connection to the branch that came to Cleveland, Benjamin and John Bilkey (who married Cordelia Best), let me know and I will be happy to share. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Thanks for the note. My Grandparents (John Bilkey) lived in Dearborn, MI. where my Grandfather was a Plant Manager at Ford. My Father (Richard Bilkey) has the Geneology records so I'll check with him. I do know that my Great Grandmother had at least a dozen children in Cornwall.
