Hello Bille, sorry it took so long to post again. My Great-grandfather was married to Ida Selina Vuille, maiden name Aubergeon. I can't seem to go back any further yet. My grandfather Pierre A. Vuille gave my father Pierre G. Vuille a copy of the family crest. I will have to see where it was put. I'm very interested in finding this part of the family.

My last name is Rosario-Rojas which are common Spanish surnames, my family is from the Dominican Republic. Both sides of my family are mixed black & white, my paternal grandfather is mixed (black & white) and my paternal grandmother is just white with blue eyes.
My grandmother says her family came from Spain to the Dominican Republic not too many generations before her. Her last name is Mercado-Acosta (which aren't common in the Dominican Republic). Her father was Teofilo Mercado-Nuñez & her mother Ofelia Acosta-Alonzo. I want to know how I can find my ancestors from Spain.
My paternal grandfather's lastnames are Rosario-Cruz and my dad says that his side of the family has roots in India but Im not sure if that's true. His parents were Francisco Rosario-Cruz and Herminia Cruz-Muñoz
I never knew my maternal grandfather, his name was Teofilo-Antonio Rojas Serrano. His parents were Andrés Rojas-Martinez and Emmentina Serrano
My maternal grandmother was Guarina Malena-Felix. Her parents were Gregorio Malena and Matilde Felix. My dad says that my maternal grandmother had Taino features. She was dark skinned with dark brown hair but it wasn't course hair because she was mixed (black and white)

My name is Neville Wall and I am responding to the letter you sent for my wife, Margie. First, let me say how happy I am that my wife found you. She never knew my mom or dad and always asks me about them. Growing up, I knew my dad was a musician but only summized from what my mom said that he was gifted. This letter confirms that. In my teanage years, my dad only played for enjoyment, working for the postal service at the S.F. Airport. I did know we was very intelligent. He was taking correspondence courses from University of California Extention in chemistry, physics, and calculus. Who does that for fun? Unfortunately, his drinking problems continued to plague him until his death.

I want to say how grateful I am to meet you and to learn more about my heritage. My brother Rupert (he hates the name and legally changed it to Bill) has all the love letters from my parents and almost all the old pictures. Unfortunately, he and I had a falling out 15 years ago. Do you have a personal email that might be a better way to privately communicate? Mine is nhwall@yahoo.com. Rupert's Address: 1425 5th Ave, San Francisco:
"george is in New York at the Julliard Conservatory of Music. He has really done wonders there. He has been so far ahead in his classes that on the start within a week or two he was put in year work & about the end of the semester, his teachers were recommending him for graduation. Whether they will let him graduate in one year we will not know for a little while. He was put in first chair in trombone in the Senior Orchestra the second day. He can do harmony & sight reading with the best of them. He never had any piano lessons in his life until he went there & is in the advanced class. It is all rather strange to me & is quite a problem. The boy seems to be a muscial genius. It is his whole life & complete interest. How in heck he is going to make anything but a precarious living at it I don't know. It is a terribly hard game & the whole field is sowed up by the Jews. He belongs to the Musician's Union & has not been able to get even a casual job in New York since he has been there. Here in S. F. where he in known, he has had considerable casual work but the most of it is jazz stuff that would gall the soul of a real musician. His work at Julliard will probably make him more discontented with inferior music. He has a year to write music in fact has written two or three pieces that have been pronounced OK by people who are capable of judging. Everything is tied up by ASCAP or the other trust. If an unknown musician writes a piece, none of the publishers will print it. He has to sell it to Irvin Berlin or one of the big shots who give him $5 for it & publish it under their own name. To make a living by music, at present, seems to me about impossible. "

Thank you so much for responding. My husband was thrilled to know that someone from his family is still exists. I will try to gather as much information as I can so we can piece together the family tree. Neville has an older brother, who he is estranged from that lives in San Francisco. His name is Rupert William Wall. I believe he inquired a couple of years ago from the thread, as bwall661. Neville's mother is Luella Irene Wall. She was adopted, so I do not know her background. Neville does remember his grandfather and remembers the picture you send. I will send you a picture of his father and mother as soon as I can.

I'm thrilled that you contacted me. My great grandma was Ruth Wall Geiss from Oregon. Your husband and I share common ancestors. My ancestor, George Wall (b. 1848 Gravesend, Kent, Eng and d. 1925 Union Co, OR) and your husband's ancestor, John W. Wall (b. 1846 don't know where; don't know where/when died) were brothers!

Hi, Debbie. My ancestors came from Neuchatel, LeLocle, La Sagne and Travers. My g-g-grandfather was Paul Vuille dit Bille. He had a sister, Marie and a brother August Herman. August Herman dropped the dit Bille when he came to America. Paul died in Switzerland. Both his children immigrated here. We have a hand drawn copy of the family crest. Hello, My great-grandparents immigrated to America from Switzerland in 1907, and were from Neuchâtel, LeLocle and La Sagne according to my paperwork.
The earliest person in my paperwork is David Louis Vuille dit Bille. His son was Celestin who married Adelaide Brandt and had 3 children, Marie, Paul and August Herman. Paul married Adele Delachaux and had 2 children, Henri and Emma, who was my great-grandmother.
Emma married Werner Weber and they immigrated to Missouri, United States. Emma's mother and brother also immigrated here, as did Marie and August Herman. Some dropped the "dit" and the "dit Bille" when they immigrated.

John W's wife was Jane Benson b. abt 1856 Ireland. Our family connection comes in one generation back to John W. Wall's parents. They were William G. Wall b. 26 Aug 1812 Canterbury Mead, Whitstable, Kent; d. 29 Sep 1878 and Emma Anderson b. 1818 Canterbury Mead, Whitstable, Kent. She died after 1882. My line is with Wm and Emma's 5th child, George Wall. Wm & Emma's children were Howard, William b. 5 Nov 1837, d. 30 Jan 1911 Ontario, CA; Charlotte b. 1842, m. Chas. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wall died here last Sunday after having been ill for some time.

Mrs. Wall was born November 7, 1886, in Homer, Nebraska. She had lived for many years in San Francisco, but she and her husband, the late Rupert Wall, sho was a P. G. & E. employee, had had a summer home here for 25 years.

She is survived by the follwing children, Mrs. Mary Anderson, Mill Valley; Robert Wall, San Francisco; George Wall, Oakland; Mrs. Katherine Hand, Los Angeles; Mrs. Ethel Bevan and Mrs. Dorothy Hanson of San Francisco and by two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Edwards and Mrs. Louise Lyon of Paradise; a brother, John Bille of Paradise, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Paradise Chapel of the Pines with Rev. Robert Kennan officiating followed by cremation.

He was an Army WWII veteran, 33rd Armored Regiment, “Spearhead”, who served in France, Belgium, Germany, was in the Normandy Invasion and recipient of the Bronze Star. His experiences were detailed on the Discovery Channel documentary titled, “Rolling Thunder”. For 12 years he was the head of maintenance for Jamesway in Secaucus, N.J. and retired in 1987, he then was a deliveryman for Davis Drugs in Wood-Ridge, N.J. for 5 years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, a Eucharistic Minister to the sick and homebound and a member of the Franciscians from Assumption. He was also a member of the V.F.W. of Carlstadt, Post 3149 and the Carlstadt Seniors. Beloved husband for over 60 years of Constance R. (nee Scozzie) Bille. Loving father of Thomas Eugene Bille, Jr., Diane Christeson and her husband Brian, Frances M. Thibodeau and her husband Richard and the late Charles A. Bille and his wife Karen. My Billi relatives lived in Fano, by the Adriatic Sea, from the 1500s through 1907 when my grandmother Valentina Giulia Billi (1893-1983) emigrated to eastern Pennsylvania with her family. From what I understand, the name was de Billy when the family lived in France earlier than the 1500s.

The family is quiet old (early 15Th century, probably older) and is coming from "La Sagne" anf from Valangin where a grand-grand.... father bought a field in 1474. My husband's great-great grandmother was Kirsten Hansen Bille who married Lars Hansen Ebbe. They lived in Lincoln Township, Wood County, WI. She was a sister to Hans Hansen Bille, Anne Hansen Bille, Ole Hansen Bille, Johanne Hansen Bille and Lars Hansen Bille. Her parents were Hans Rasmussen Bille & Ane Olsen (Olsdatter). I am looking for information on the parents of Hans Hansen Bille and Maren Bille from Lolland. Hans parents were Hans Rasmussen Bille and Ane Olsdatter and Meren's parents were Christian Bille and Johanna Peterson.

Hans and Maren immigrated in April 1882 to Marshfield Wisconsin.
