I am looking for information on African American Billingsleys from the Travis Co, TX and Bastrop Co, TX areas. I have been able to identify some of my ancestors in the 1880 Census. However, I am curious to know if they may have been slaves in Travis Co or Bastrop Co.

Does anyone know if some of the Anglo Billingsleys were slaveowners? Is there any documentation? If so, please post a message or e-mail me at adama_brown@yahoo.com.
