Billman's From Ripley County

I too am looking for billmans of Ripley county but Constance is not in my direct bloodline (but was a neighbor) of Wendelin Bihlmann born in Baden Germany 1902. I can't find anything past him sadly. Any help would be stellar or anything you can find in Baden Germany that might get me a starting point. Thanks

I am looking for Billmans in Ripley County Indiana. I know my ancestory line is Anthony and Rose Billman, born 1869 and 1876 respectively. Valentine Constantine "Constance" and Mary Ann Billman, born 1828 and 1833 respectively. I believe Wendolin and Lidmina, born 1817 and 1819 respectively are Constances' parents, but am not positive about that fact. Do you have any other information regarding this line of Billmans?

Thanks,
Robin Billman Alexander

Esther Billman

I am trying to find out if Esther Billman, b. Dec.21,1817; married to Amos Lutz bef. Oct.1839 & resided Schuylkill Col., PA; d. Feb.3, 1901 in Columbia Co., PA could be daughter of Jacob Billman, s/o Johannes Billman & b. 1790 Lehigh Twp., PA and Esther Steigerwalt.
The only child for this couple any one has posted, that I've found so far, is on the Brobst Family Registry at Rootsweb. A William Billman, b.1829 West Penn Twp, Schulkill Co.,PA is listed which is in same general area where Amos Lutz, his wife Esther Billman were. I contacted that site but they don't have any other children listed for them. At another message board a searcher had a Hester Billman attributed to these parents but not born till 1832. Seems to me since Jacob & Esther were married approx. 1815 there should be much older children as well. I live in Houston, TX so don't get to that area to search church records. Would appreciate any help anyone may be able to give me on this family and will share whatever I have freely as well.

I may have a tie to this family in Kansas. I recently found a legal notice regarding some land owned by the Peelle family in Bourbon County, Kansas. It mentions typical potential heirs to the property. However, it also mentions a few others that I haven't been able to tie to our family. The "Billman" names seem to match your names very well. It mentions Louis H., John B., George H., Berth B. Lucy B, Mary A., and Urias. Based on the format, I am guessing that Mary A. and Urias were the parents. Is this your family? If so, did they live in Southeast Kansas - or even in the Wichita area (my family has ties to both)? I would really like to figure out why they are listed in this notice.

Diane, we are getting closer. Sallie Seaman Billman is my first cousin 3x removed. Can you tie yourself in and I can tell you how we are related? Looks like a LOT of your family is buried at St Michaels. I must have 1/2 the people buried there related to me. I have been there numberous times and I have to keep going back as I find more people there related to me. I must have 500 tombstone pics from there. The St Johns church records in Hamburg have a son Daniel for J Davilla & Amelia Billman. Thats where he came from. I look forward to finding out how we are related!
Take care!

I thought your name sounded familiar. The children for John Davilla S. Billman and Amelia M. Seaman are:

Frances, George, Jacob, Harry, Anne, Franklin, Sallie, Mary, Henry, Samuel, John and Amos. No Daniel.

I descend from Sallie (1886-1960) who married William F. Koenig (1883-1958). They were my great-grandparents.

John Davilla Billman's parents were Johann Billman (1812-1881)and Catherine Stoyer (1815-1879).

Johann's parents were Jacob Billman (1785-1843) and Maria M. Sassaman (1792-1874).

Jacob's parents were Hans Dewalt Billman (1726-1820) and Anna Maria. Hans Dewalt was our immigrant ancestor who arrived in America in 1752.

I haven't worked on Sallie's lateral lines yet so I can't help you with from that point on. When I have time, I will look them all up in the census reports, but that will have to wait for now.

Yes, I have some, the earliest I have birthdates on are John BRAUCHER 1776 who married Susanna LEIBY and Anna Elizabeth BRAUCHER 1772 who married Michael George SCHMIDT. Do you have any names in particular I could look up?
donschleighess@sbcglobal.net

I have a Richard Billman who married Elizabeth (Marie) Benton in Ohio. Their children were Harriet, Lewis, Simon, Sarah and Hannah. Richard was born about 1812 in PA. Elizabeth in 1818 also in PA. Do you have any information on them? I believe Daniel Billman was Richard's brother but no confirmation yet.

Looking for information on Elizabeth (Lizzie) Billmann born about 1863 in Sunman, Indiana or close to Sunman. She married August Lindner. I know they had at least 3 children: Frederick, Mary (Maimie) and Catherine (Katie). Fred may have been born in Illinois, but Mary and Catherine were both born in Cincinnati, OH. Any information on Elizabeths parents or her marriage to August would be greatly appreciated.
Debbie

Hello

I was looking for other information and saw your posting. I have transcribed many articles from the Medina County Gazette that were reported from Spencer, Medina, Ohio.

Here are two that refer to the Rebman family. It's not much but its something.

Thursday, April 8, 1897, Medina County Gazette Spencer (April 5) " John Ingraham bought the Hendee
house of Dr. Willy, and moved into it. John Ross moved his family into the John Ingraham house. Bert
Walters moved into his own house. Frank Rebman went into the Charley Beamaut house. Moses Rupp
bought the house formerly owned by Henry Gross and has moved. Chester Stroup is preparing to go to
housekeeping at the Center." Researcher: Francis M. Stuart, 2004

Thursday, January 31, 1901, Medina County Gazette, p. 7 Spencer (Jan. 28) " A large number of our
citizens are suffering from a severe attack of the grip, in many cases several in the family being sick at
once. Both Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Jefferies are seriously sick. J. A Stroup, also, is under the doctor's
care. Mrs. S. Shaw, who had partially recovered, is suffering a relapse. Mrs. Frank Rebman is also
quite sick." Researcher: Francis M. Stuart, 2004

I am also working on a database containing names of persons in the Spencer Cemetery. I do not find any Rebman family members.

Regards

Francis Stuart
fstuart@bright.net
Oberlin, Lorain, Ohio

PS I am from Spencer.
