I can confuse the issue of the Bing clan more than it is already.
1790 census - Mathew Bing Sr. prominent farmer/plantation owner; of Robertville & Gillisonville, Beaufort Co., SC. listed as having 94 slaves. Wife unknown.
Mathew Bing Jr. born abt 1804/05 married Caroline ? born abt 1810/11 both of SC. Children: Caroline E. b 1835, Julius Mathew b 1836 married Rebecca Plumet & lived in Charleston,SC.. Labina or Salina b 1838 married ? Orr, Lisbon b 1840 married Mary Gertrude Guilmartin & moved to Savannah Georgia, Laura b 1842 married C. Lawton, Mary A b 1846, Joel McFurman b 1850, Thaddeous C. b 1852.
1860 census for Mathew Jr & Caroline show children of Primus family living with them. They are: Eugenia Primus b 1846, Elvira Primus b 1848, & Eugene Primus b 1850.
Julius Bing & Rebecca Plumet lived in Charleston from abt 1850 Children Henry/Harry Mathew b 1856, Plumet b 1860 mariner/sailor, William Legare b 1867, Elmore/Elmore b ? lived in New York - Daughters names unknown at least one lived in California. Julius spent time in DC - See Library of Congress site - Letters to Lincoln. He was a consul for President Lincoln.
