Hi Bob,

Who was your great grandfather? Henry's son Hilarion is my grandfather. I have a lot of the family information on Rootsweb.com's genealogy. It's called "One big family".

I'd like to know more about you and your Bingen branch. We had a small Bingen family reunion last summer and would like to have a full-fledged one next year. Please feel free to contact me off-line: jbcopet@sbcglobal.net

Jack

Henry is my great grandfather's brother. There are 14 or 15 kids of Hery's. Let me know if you need any of their names. I would like any information that you have about your family.

Josephine Margaret Bingen
b - 12 Jan 1896
d - 27 Mar 1972

Looking for Milfred Bingen

On October 12, 1916 in Fond du Lac, an infant son was born to an unmarried Josephine Bingen (b. 1897), daughter of Henry Bingen & Appolonia Luis. The baby was named Milfred and was put up for adoption.

Does anyone know who this might be? Milfred, are you out there looking for your roots? I hope so, I'd like to help, I'm descended from Josephine's younger brother Hilarion.

John and Peter Bingen

I am looking for anyone who is researching the Bingens of Washington County, Wisconsin. All Bingens are related in this county and are descended from either Peter or John Bingen. Peter was born in Wellingen, Germany in 1816, his brother John, of the same place, was born in 1819. They immigrated to Wisconsin in 1846/7 and settled in Milwaukee for a short time.

Soon after, they both purchased land in the town of Addison. John and Peter also had a brother-in-law who came from Germany and lived in the town as well, named Nicholas Uder. John Bingen died in 1873, but no record survives as to why he died. He transferred land to his brother Peter four days before he died, indicating he knew he was ill. Peter died in Milwaukee in 1893.

I know there are members of the extended family that have photographs that are invaluable, but are not sharing unfortunately. There are currently four people working together to piece a large, comprehensive family history but need help from others about stories, facts and photos.

I would love to exchange information with anyone who might be related, researching or is familiar with the Bingen family.

Attached is a photograph labeled as "Johann Bingen". It may be the same Johann Bingen (born 1819), but there is no positive ID regarding it. Can anyone identify it?
