I am trying to connect with any of the Ward families. I keep hitting brick walls. My John Ward was born in Louisiana around 1830 give or take afew years. He married Emeline Cummings on Feb 6, 1851 in Arkansas. (She was also born in Louisiana abt 1832). They had a son William Newton Black Ward b. Dec 4, 1860 in Arkansas. So far on all census lookups he is called "Black Ward". Did they have other children or did they really have their 1st child 8 years after the marriage started? Also I am showing Emeline getting married for the 2nd time to E. B. Bingham on Feb 13, 1868 in Hunt County Texas. They had 2 twin boys Edwin and Edward in January of 1870. Could John Ward have been killed in the Civil War? Can anyone claim me as their relative?
