Hello Mark,
I'm David (Dave) Hamilton Bingley, my father was born in Machynlleth, though the family was realy centered in Peatling Parva, Leicestershire. I myself have lived in the Aberystwyth area for nearly 50 years.
Have you seen a publication "Bingley, an English Family notebook" ?? Might find a copy at Amazon..
It gives much information on the origin of the Bingley name and the early history.
We must be related somewhere, all the Bingleys are. But your not in my tree !!!
Hope this helps, good luck. Dave Bingley.

I was trying to find a newspaper article or obituary on some of my Canadian relatives when I came across this site. My cousin Lisa Rockburn was married to Robert Kirkpatrick in which he was on the thread "found some stuff". Bob and his daughter Shauna were killed in an accident along with Lisa's mother and father. I was young at the time of their death's but I would like to know if anyone has any information that they can give me regarding this. Lisa's parents where Shirley and "Rocky" Rockburn.

Thanks.

Appears that you are a second cousin. My middle name is Ross, for my uncle Ross who was named for his uncle Ross who was your Wilbert Ross Bingley. After his death of pneumonia during the flu epidemic of 1918 great aunt "Gert" left Toronto for the US where family history says she remarried. Her two children were Russel and Catherine my dad told me. I suspect that Ross raced bicycle and or motorcycles as did his brothers Bert, Fred and Walter (my grand father) Would love to exchange more info.
Yup! We are related, but way back. Our common ancestors were Thomas & Hannah. I've met Ross. He was the one that started me off learning more of the Bingley family. My middle name is Ross after my uncle and my uncle Ross was named after his uncle Ross who died of the Spanish influenza. I suspect Roy named your G uncle for that same Ross. Seems to me the Bingley family had quite the tradition of naming childred after relatives. Is your dad Larry Ross by any chance? I'd love to know more of the Cornwall/Ottawa clan. How about emailing me at bingley@lara.on.ca
Regards
Don

My name is Gale Palmer and I am related to a Lewis Bingley Wynne b. 1815 in Kentucky. He worked in Washington D.C. for over 30 years and was a close friend of Abe Lincoln. His son Clinton Wynne maried a Elizabeth Nance. Her father was Thomas Nance. There is a court document from Green county, Kentucky dated Mar 1816. A written power of attorney from Zacariah Nance(Thomas Nance 's dad), Elizabeth Nance, Thomas Wynne, James Goldsby dr. to John M. Bingley (Lewis Bingley's son). for a deed transfer. My question is do you have any connection in your file's to the Wynne family and the Bingley family. I am trying to figure out who Lewis Bingley's father is. Please contact me at ogro69@aol.com.

Gale Palmer

Hi. Kevin; Just out of a lark got inspired again, and happened across this old email, (2000) from you. Thanks soon much; I also don't look at emails much. Just signed up for a 2 wk. trial @ ancestry. From the info my aunt (Joan) gave me, it looks like Thomas & Hannah had 5 children, Wallace (my gg grandf.), George, William, Lizzy, and Lottie. I see you live in Smith Falls, and there looks like lots of Bingleys around that area. Do you think the Cornwall Bingleys are related? Don't know if the family tree bug has hit me yet, as it seems like lots of work, though rewarding also. Thanks again Kevin and have a great day. Mike Bingley

Hi, How interesting is this! I just recieved my G-aunt Christine E.Grant baptism certif. Circa september 1901 St. Agnes Church Cleveland. One of the sponsers was "Osmar Bingley" Perhaps a typo? Anyway my Ggrampa Herbert Edwin Grant was from England also. We have him traced back to Tetbury Gloucestershire.
Is this a possibility?

I am looking for information regarding Thomas Bailey (c1804-?) and Jane Patteson (Pattison) (Patterson) (c1810-1889). They both were probably born in Virginia. He died before 1834. Her second husband was Charles Lively (c1803-1862). Her half sister was Kate Bingley. Jane and Charles lived in Williamsburg. Her father is believed to have been a colonel and orginally was from Norfolk. Thomas could have been born in or near Petersburg, VA.

Mike: I did come across some documents re this marriage, and have copies somewhere of the marriage event buried here in my office. I am trying to recall if the Cornwall, Ontario Bingleys' supplied me with this information, or if I just came across it in my work... I did have contact with the Bingleys' in Cornwall, Ont. I think they photocopied this info from some family documents and some excerpts from their bible. Respond with some info and tell me if we are looking at the same material. If you have the Thomas/Hannah marriage you probalby have the right sources. And yes they are buried at Carrying Place. I believe there are two cemeteries there...both of different ages. I don't check the message listings to often. The date today is Sept. 18, 2000
Regards Kevin Bingley, Smiths Falls, ONT.
