Thank you so much for your reply and the information. You don't know how happy I am to hear from you.

On the border crossing record of 1934, there are ages listed for the children: James Appleton (Minnie's son) 14; Alfred 9; Lawrence 5 and Ellen 3. These ages do not coincide with the birth dates for Roy and Evelyn. It almost seems as though there was a second family.
