I am looking for a Frederick Bippus who had a son William who was deaf. Could this be your William? Frederick`s wife`s name was Rebbecca, they are my great grandparent`s. Any help would be much apprediated. Answer to dhender2.

From the Bippus Family History Book, I can see that there is no Jean/John/Johannes Baptiste Bippus mentioned.

The only Johannes from that time that cannot be traced further on is:
-Johannes Bippus, born 02.06.1857 in Sigmarswangen
Parents: Bippus Georg Jakob (file#98) born 16.02.1822 Sigmarswangen and Schneider Anna Maria born 08.01.1825 in Dürrenmettstetten

All other known birth from 1850-1860 of Johannes/Johann Bippus can be traced elsewhere: emigrated to Russia, or died in Germany.

Next to them, I also found 2 more Johann/Johannes that emigrated to the USA and that cannot be traced further on, but they were born a few years before/later:

- Johannes Bippus , born 08.07.1845 in Rotenzimmern, emmigrated 1859 to Amerika
(file No. 157)

Parents: Bippus Johannes born 02.04.1817 in rotenzimmern and
Sautter, Anna, born 14.11.1825 in Täbingen

Another small possibility:

There's a Johann Georg Bippus, born 12.08.1826 Rotenzimmern (file#191) who went to "Amerika".
He had a son Andreas, born 1850 who died in Germany 1913, but the mothers death certific. indicates "unmarried"

Maybe he married (again) in the USA and had a son "John or Jean Baptiste"

Your message caught my eye. My wife's grandmother (Lillian Bertha Harrell) was (per family history) orphaned and raised by a John Baptiste Bippus and Lillian Beckham. In the 1900 census, she indicated her father was from Indiana and her mother was from Louisana. Her death certificate shows father John Bippers from Germany and mother Rose Bicham from Baton Rouge, LA. She married a Milligan in Baton Rouge in 1909.

My wife's mother was named Lillian Bippus Milligan which I am sure was named after her adoptive (foster?) father. Assuming normal ages, John Bippus would have been born circa 1850/1860.
Does there appear to be any connection?

I just found your message and it amazes me - you are miles ahead of me, so can you see if Johann Bippus that imigrated from Holzhausen, Wuertemmberg to Evansville Indiana around 1832 is part of this line. I haven't found any hints to his parents so far in my search.

Fordric, b aprx 1826, Switzerland, resided in Riley, IN, per 1880 census,cannot find him before or after. His son, WM Otto Bippus, 1878-1925 was my grandfather. Any help appreciated.

Jean Baptiste Bippus (Bypus) and Lillian Beckham adopted my grandmother Lillian Bertha Harrell who was born 24 Dec 1881 in Baton Rouge and died 15 Sep 1921.

Lillian may have had a sister "Nan" and/or a brother "John". She married Thomas Rodger Milligan on 17 Jul 1909 in Shreveport. They ultimately moved to Ft. Worth, TX.

I would appreciate any information on this part of my family since this is all I know.

This is certainly the same Bippus family, since I have a John Bippus d. in Chicago Oct. 5, 1892 and is buried at Rosehill.

Had to quite writing. My J. F. Bippus was born on 11 July 1821; I am born on 11 July 1938 and my son is born on 11 July 1970. I have a Lucinda J Hirshman buried in the same plot as BOTH John's and Frederick is the owner, thus is appears it is my family. My records incidate he came from Germany in 1855, Frederick was born in Michigan and the rest of the family was born and died in Chicago.

According to my mother he had a son called John F. Bippus whose daughter was Luella Blanche Bippus, my mother's mother. She thought Bippus Sr. wife was Elizabeth M who death certificate I have. Neither of these gives any parentage.
