I am unable to reach the original author of this thread. I have the following information to contribute.

My Grandfather Albert W Jones was in the Canadian Armed forces and met Winifred Maud Birch while in England. They married there but I do not know when.

Winifred's birth was thought to be 1923. I assume her family to be from Shropshire since that is where her son (my father) was born On Oct 8, 1943. Winifreds address at that time was Upper lodge, Lydham Manor, Bishops Castle.

Winifred moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1944 with her son Roy Alan Jones and her husband stayed in England for a while due to war injuries. She had 4 more children before sadly passing at a young age of 30. If this link is of value to you, I may be able to provide more details on her life & death.

If there is a link to your family, I am anxious to find her parents and grandparents etc..
