I am trying to locate info on my great great grandfather, John Birchall who arrived in Perth, Australia from the UK, and moved to Bunbury, W Aust.

He married Emma Connett in Perth in 1891. The marriage certificate says his father was John Birchall, engineer and the family bible says he was born 14 Apr 1871 in Market Weighton, North Yorkshire but I have not been able to locate any such birth or family.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Hoping to swap family info with descendants of Francis Cyril Edgcumbe Birchall, arrived Ontario from Scotland 1910, married Charlotte Robina Hamilton. Returned to UK after 1966 when wife died. He was a first cousin once removed, his mother was a great aunt of mine.

I have - John Birchall (1779-1857) was baptised on September 24th 1779 at Sandbach. Clearly emerging from a frayed remnant from the dark dank vaults of St Mary's is 'Sept 24 John S. of James, Sandbach' ...
John was born in Wybunbury, and worked in the mills as a Silk Throwster.
On April 25th 1802 John married Hannah Martin (1780-1844) at Astbury. Much has come from that particular union ... and it still goes on! In addition to son and heir James, John & Hannah had a daughters Ann (1811-), Mary (1816-), Emma (1822-) & Harriet (1922-) all 4 were working in Silk in 1841.
On July 25th 1857 John was buried at Sandbach.

I am the grandson of Rose Chadwick who was born sometime in the middle 1800's in Bolton Lancashire but have no DOB. She married Robert Lawton who died in 1938. My grandmother had a sister, Ada Chadwick (married name not known) who went to America some time in the late 1930's early 1940's
My mother Rose Lawton married my father, Merrick Birchall (born 1899)in 1928 and I was born in late 1930's and lived in Bolton Lancashire. We emigrated to Australia in 1952.
I'm sorry I can't assist with Margaret Chadwick but there might be some conection

John Birchall Sr. was a swithcher for the "London and North Western Railroad" An agent came over from the CPR in Canada with a magic lantern show to try and get immigrants to come to Western Canada. When John Sr saw the slide of Lake Louise he asket the agent about it.He was told if he came to Calgary he would see it every day out his window. He died never seeing Lake Louise.

My grandmother was Sarah Anne Birchall married to Ernest Thompson. Calgary, Alberta, She immigrated in 1907 I believe it was married to Harry Hankinson. with many of the Birchals. her father was John Birchall Married to Margaret Willcock(as spelt on Sarah's Birth Certificate)/Wilcox

I am the Grandson of Arthur William Birchall and He was Married to Dora Anderson Howell Untill his death in 1972 in Palmerston North.
They had 5 Children of which all are still alive.
Dora died in Otaki last Year.

Hello im looking for any one related to my great aunt Margaret Chadwick b 1885 in Adlington, Lancashire, England and married in 1919 Chorley, lancashire, England. April 13, 1929 the set sail and landed in New York, USA and in 1930 the were working in Briarcliff Lodge Hotel

I have birchalls in my tree- my great great great great grandfather Thomas Hatton b 1806, married Betty Birchall b 1796,They had 6 children and lived in St. Helens Lancashire - Her father was JOhn Birchall b 1759 married Mary Stockley b 1763 can get back to 1600 or so Nathan - e-mail me at maggie_piano@yahoo.co.uk for more info.

2. Eli YOXALL, age 59, born Aston, Warwickshire (RG13/2879 F35 P11)
3. Dorothy YOXALL, age 26, born Luton, Bedfordshire (RG13/1514 F5 P1)

I am seeking information on Mary Birchall, born about 1785, Of Ashton, In Makerfield, Winwick, Lncshr., Eng.. She died 26 Jun 1839, Ashton In Willow, Wigan, Lncshr, England. She was married to Seth Melling on 2 Oct 1815, at Aston, Ingham, Herford, England. If anyone has any informaton about this person, I would appreciate hearing from you. Our family has been searching for years to make a connection with this line of ancestry.

Yeh there was one Joseph Birchall he married Ellen Birchall 1866 at Bolton becuase Joseph Birchall was 26 when married Ellen Birchall if this is one you are related. Manchester them days not many at name called Birchall Living in 1800 Joseph Birchall yeh lived in Manchester with his dad James Birchall. Joseph Profession was Labour - Carter. Joseph Birchall had a son called John Birchall born March 1885 at St Helens at Home in Elephant Lane Thatto Heath - Sutton becuase then day Sutton was district of Thatto Heath. We suspect Irish people from 1700's 1st Patato Fammine. We did know they walked alot in them days as we were told and We did have connections in Mancester Named Birchall. John Birchall Fell out with Joseph Birchall he never liked his Father. Then John Birchall had a son called Charles Robert Birchall witch was my Granddad and was my dad Father Charles Robert Birchall and that why my dad named Robert Birchall. My dad is the Origanal left from Joseph Birchall from the Family. if like know more a know alot from this Family John told my dad most Storie before passed away.

The John Holt who married Mary Ellen Birchall was the son of Joseph Holt & Martha Graham. But it's possible there's a link further back. Joseph's parents were Edward Holt and Mary (Reed?). He had siblings William Edward, Hannah, Thomas, Joseph and Benjamin all b Altrincham/Broadheath. I haven't got any more children for Edward (B abt 1790) & Mary (b abt 1785). This is not a direct reply to your question, but my Birchall tree also has a possible Horridge connection...that being a possible 1852/March Bolton marriage between a John Birchall (b.Jan 1822, Wigan) and an Ann Horridge.

Perhaps the two families had several unions over the years?

I am trying to locate the parents of Charles Leslie Birchall (b 20/10/1895), my grandfather. They were Fred Birchall (b abt 1876) and Alice Horridge (b abt 1874). They are shown in the 1901 census living at 41 Leigh Road, Worsley. However the 1911 census shows that my Grandfather was living with his uncle & aunt - Charles and Emma Horridge in Chorlton, Manchester. The 1911 census does not show either Fred or Alice Birchall and I cannot locate their death or emigration. Has anyone any details that may assist

This is a superb website with a great search facility (obviously remember to check spelling variations for the names and places you are looking for - so far I've found over a dozen variations for Anglezarke!)

There's quite a few Birchall Wills listed on the excellent Lancashire Wills website. These can be oredered on microfiche from your nearest friendly LDS church.

These include quite a few Will for Birchall in Rainford incl. Nathans, Peter and Henry in the late C17th/early C18th and a very early Margaret Birchall in Charnock in 1677.

Unfortunately I'm too busy at the moment to order these up but would love to hear from anyone who does and is kind enough to share the info'?

My great-grandmother, Frances Birchall, was from Lancashire. Her parents were John Birchall and Nancy Heyes.
Frances married George Teale and the family immigrated to the US. They had three children: Joseph, Austin and Hilda Mary Frances, my grandmother.

Hi, Sorry but I don't have a Birchall connection to Rainford during that period. My Birchall ancestors relocated from Pemberton, Wigan to Heath Charnock in the early 1800's. However I do have a Peter Birchall and a John Clitherow attending the marriage of Henry Rimmer and Sarah Stephenson at Rainford in 1791 and I believe Peter and John may be the Fathers of Thomas Birchall b 1767 in Pemberton and his wife Elizabeth Clitherow my earliest known direct ancestors. So, there may be a Birchall Rainford connection in the Mid/late 1700's. Regards David
