Birdsell Family in Michigan

Dear Birdsells,

I have been searching for a Harold Birdsell in Minnesota. However I found the following PDF file site on the web that shows a page from an old newspaper The Cass City Chronicle in Cass City, Michigan from March 2, 1917. On the left hand column is an article "South Holbrook School" about the local school and a Harold and Leona Birdsell are mentioned about the tenth paragraph down.

I don`t think this is the Harold Birdsell I am looking for, but it might be of interest or use to others researching the Birdsell Family.

The site address is:

http://newspapers.rawson.lib.mi.us/chronicle/ccc1917%20(E)/i...
Henry Birdsell from Illinois, then Janesville, then LaCrosse, WI?

I am having a heck of a time positively id'ing my ggg grandfather. I'm hoping someone can help me out. My gg grandmother is Edith Birdsell (married John Moser). Edith's father is listed as Henry Birdsell (per Edith's death cert). In the 1880 census, Henry is listed as being born in Ill, with his parents both born in Ill. Edith's mother is "Joie", born in PA, and both parents born in PA.
I am finding some "close hits" with a Henry Birdsell Jr and Sr both buried in LaCrosse. Henry Jr married "Joannah S Emmons" in 1870 in Mauston, WI (between LaCrosse and Janesville). This particular Jr. and Sr. served in the Civil War. One discrepancy is that on the marriage certificate, Henry Jr. was born in NY. So...it just doesn't feel like a match.
Anyone out there have any helpful hints? I am just starting this tree of mine, so as you all know, my fingers are glued to the keyboard. Thanks!!!

Thankful Birdzell m. to Israel Curtis, father Isaac Birdzell

I am looking for Thankful Birdzell and her ancestors. I know that her father's name was Isaac Birdzell. She was born Oct. 11, 1782, probably in Cayuga County, New York, and was married to Israel Curtis. She and Israel had eight children, some of who were born in Cayuga County, NY, then moved to Cattaraugus County, NY, where other children were born, then to Michigan. I wonder if she may have been sister to a Caleb Birdzell, whose name I have come across who was born late 1780s and born or lived in Cayuga County, New York. It is such a mystery that nothing seems to be out there about Thankful's family. Can anyone help?

Searching for Birdsell Ancestors

My great grandmother's name was Alice BIRDSELL. I believe she was born 29 Sep 1857 in Fairfield, Iowa. Alice married Asa O WHITE on 7 Jun 1880 in Fulton County, Illinois. She died in St. Maries, Idaho 02 Aug 1946. Alice's parents, I believe, were William BIRDSELL (maybe born in New York) and Rachel FLEMMING (maybe born in Indiana). The sketchy information I have says that William was a printer who was lost in the Civil War. William and Rachel also had a son, John Fremont BIRDSELL, and the widowed mother-in-law, Martha FLEMING probably lived with them in Fairfield, Iowa. If anyone out there can help me fill in more of the details, I would appreciate it.

Louisiana Biersoll (Birdsell)

Looking for Descendants of Peter Anton Biersoll b. 1845 in Hamburg, Germany. Married in 1865 to Clara Weber (born in Bavaria). Both died in Louisiana.

I was told that the name Biersoll is not a common name in Bavaria, but we think the name might have been changed from Birdsell. We found an old label that had the spelling Birdsell, but all of the other information on birth/death certificates say Biersoll.

I think their name Biersoll was changed once they came to America.

I might be able to help.

Hi- My mothers former last name was Birdsell. And I know that sometime between 1900 and today a Birdsell family resided in California. My granfather, Delbert, I believe moved from California to South Dakota. He died in, I believe 1956 or so. I dont know if that helps anyone... I just thought I would tell you what I know.

Best of Luck.

Beth =)
