My great, great grandfather ,Peter Birdsong his Brother ,I believe his name was William , came to Moniteau Co,Mo from virginia,in the 1820's. I have a cemetary book of records, from that county(Moniteau, with locations of many Birdsongs. I know they are all related to me ,but I'm not sure how .I know my grandmother Dora Jane Birdsong had a sister that married Ellis Heather. Her name was Eliza. Grandma also had sisters named Grace Azalee Martha. I'm not sure of the other siblings, but she came from a large family. Dora's mother died when she was a small child .Her mother's name was Polly Vaughn Birdsong. Polly is buried in Clarksburg,Mo.If anyone has info on these Birdsongs I would appreciate hearing from you.

I am posting this messages to claify some errors in the genealogy of my G.Grandfather Wm. Henry Birdsong.
He was born Oct 8, 1859, Hunt Co. Tx., marr. Emma Jane Farthing, July 4, 1878, Hunt Co. TX. However, on several family trees, I have seen him as being previouly married to Eliza Daniels, Nov. 11, 1869.Hunt Co. Tx. Not likely, as he would have been 10 years old. Also would like to clarify some info on his mother, Indiana Evans Jackson Birdsong Cantley She first married Edmund T. Jackson, bet. 1842-45, after his death she married Albert Gallatin Birdsong, Nov. 4, 1858,
Hunt Co. Tx. third marr. to Samuel Gibson Cantley, Dec. 2, 1883. the info in the IGI is incorrect. Cautley is in error in name and dates.I would be happy to share what I have with anyone interested in this Birdsong Branch.......Thanks
.

George Preston Birdsong/Albert Hamill Birdsong

George Preston Birdsong, son of George Lawrence Forsyth Birdsong and Susan Thweatt Birdsong, went to Cameron, Milam County, Texas, in about 1884 from Upson County, Georgia. According to the 1900 census, he worked as a night watchman. He apparently went back to Georgia in about 1903 after 20 years in Milam County. He died in Georgia on 19 June 1905. His brother, Albert Hamill Birdsong, also went to Milam County, Texas, at the same time and returned to Georgia also in about 1903. Albert Hamill Birdsong died on 25 Oct 1921 in Upson County, Georgia. Looking for any info on their years in Texas. Thanks.
Parentage of John Birdsong? VA

I have received several conflicting bits of information on who was the parents of Major John Birdsong who was married to Mary Armistead. Major John Birdsong was born 26,Aug. 1733 in what was Sussex Co. Va. The conflict I am encountering is which one on John Birdsong Sr. wives is Major John's mother. One piece of info has her as Sarah Bennett, the other has her as Demaris Hancock. If anyone can be of some help to me I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks so much!
Debi West Garrett
pegarrt@cs.com
Isaac Birdsong Skipper

Can anyone help me make a
connection to a Birdsong clan?
My husband's Gr.Gr.Grandfather
was Isaac Birdsong Skipper, born
in 1854 in AL. His parents were
Isaac B.(don't know what this
stands for) Skipper and Mary
Elizabeth Vickery. They married
in Lowndes Co. AL in 1847. Does
anyone know of a Birdsong female
who married a Skipper in the
early 1800's? Could go back to
SC or GA.

HELP!!!

My mother died three years ago and I know very little about my maternal grandmother at all. My mother's name was Charlotte Ann Hodo, born in 1936 in Hinds county, Jackson, MS. Her mother's name was Ola Kate Birdsong who married Floyd Montgomery Hodo in Meridian MS. Ola Kate and her sister, nicknamed "Snooks" were wed in a double ceremony, I do remember that. I would like to know if anyone knows Ola Kate Birdsong's parents' names, and anything about their heritage. I've been told that my great- great grandparents owned a plantation, and their daughter married the overseer's son, who was either half or whole indian; i'm not sure which, but his name was Birdsong. I've also been told that they were not indian at all, but scottish. Anyone with any information about this family please contact me at the above e-mail address. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
