Hello,
I am trying to find any information on a family of Birkbecks from Northowram or Halifax, England. In my possession I have some photographs from my great parent's family album taken in 1870 and 1885 of a Miles Birkbeck, taken in Halifax and two children of William Birkbeck. The children are George Henry (eldset son) and Mary Hannah aka Polly. I am mot sure when they were taken. I know nothing about these people and have had great difficulty finding information.
Does anybody have these names on their trees as I am getting desperate to find a connection to my family of Bairstows.

does anyone have knowledge of a grant of arms to thomas birkbeck by king henery the eighth of england in 1515? He was to have foughtat flodden field in 1513 and recieved arms on that account? Any info, pics, or history would be appreciated as well as corospondence with others. it would benifit us all. My Grandfather Anthony, and his brother Robert came to the United States about 1879. They settled in the Wilkes Barre, Pa area. Anthony married Elizabeth Oats and had 6 children. Joseph (my father) Annie, Mary Jane, Catherine, Anthony Jr.and John. My father Joseph had 7 children June Ellen, Grace/ Ruth ( twins) Edna, Joseph Carl and Gloria. Surviving are Edna, Joseph, Carl and Gloria.Anyone interested I will be happy to correspond with them. I am interested in ancestry preceeding Roberts grandfather Thomas.

I am working on William Steele who married Mary Birkbeck. She was born in Pennsylvania around 1837. Parents were Samuel and Sarah Birkbeck. They died in Illinois and are buried in the Grant Hill Cemetery, JoDavies co., Illinois.
Does anyone have a conection to Mary Birkbeck Steele.

There is a lovely photo in the July, 1996 issue of "Family Tree Magazine," published in England, of Anne Victoria Birkbeck (1893-1927), Grace Mary (1886-1955) and Julia Esther (1889-1913). They were the daughters of Turner Birkbeck, born in Yorkshire in 1858 and Julia Emerson born in Norfolk. Turner and his parents, Johnathon and Mary emigrated to Wisconsin, USA, in 1862, and the photo was taken in June 1900 in Iowa. Photo of her husband's aunts was submitted by Josie Birkbeck, 46 Pen Street, Boston, Lincs PE21 6TF to the periodical. Hope this information serendipitously helps researchers.

Seeking info on the family of Sarah W Birkbeck who married Nelson Vanderhoof in 1877. She was born in 1852 the daughter of George Birkbeck probably of Brooklyn.
Sarah died 16 Dec 1906 in Jersey City. Sister was Mary Emma Birbeck who died 1943. Family had Sugar interests in Cuba also engineers.
