Joan,
I have a grandfather whose name was Albert Ferdinand Birr. Born 6-30-1885, died 4-14-1969. His father was Ferdinand Frank Birr of Germany. He married Augusta Pillasch of Briman, Germany. I know his birthday was January 3rd, but the year was not written down. Augusta's birthday was June 28th, again without the year written down.
I am not sure if this relates to you at all, but thought it was interesting.
Take Care
Helen

Joan, this could be a coincidence, but I have a Birr-Frank coupling in my family tree around the same time frame. Otto L. Birr (1866-1947) was married to Caroline Frank (1869-1946). Quite possibly they are brother/sister to Ferdinand and Johanna. They resided in Toledo, Ohio and had 12 children - my connection being Otto Sebastian Birr (1889-1937) of Toledo and later Detroit.
Otto L's father was named Sebastian; Caroline's parents were Isadore Frank and Sabina Davis.
As an unrelated coincidence, I live in Rochester...

David, that is really a coincidence! Wish we could make a match, but I don't think so. My Ferdinand Birr's father was John Birr (Death Certificate). Johanna Frank's (Framke) father was Albert Framke (1820-1881) and her mother was Wilhelmina (1820-1884). Got names and dates for these from Mt. Hope Cemetary - old section.
It would have been so great...........

Hi David! So good hearing from you! The picture of your g grandmother, Augusta, is wonderful and I have already made a copy of it. Thank you! Augusta, was one of my mother's sisters. I never knew her, however, because she died before I arrived on the scene. Did you know that I went to Ben Franklin high school with your mother and Aunt Norma!? Love them dearly and hope all is well with them. My husband Bob, knew them both in elementary and high school as well as Luarelton Presb. Church......a loooong time ago now!! But we won't go into that!
Wish we knew more about Johanna and Ferdinand Birr - really pulling a blank on them. Don't even know if they had brothers and/or sisters?! And there is no one to ask........
Again, many thanks............Joan

Hi,
I have a Henry Birr (no birthdate) but his father was a August Birr that came from Germany and settled in Morgan, Wi abt. 1874. He married a Margaret Hammill of Pewaukee, Wi. and according to my family tree purchased 120 acres of land. His son Henry married Lillian Degan b. 1869 and they had 7 children-Ruby, Earl, Minnie, Evelyn, Margaret, Norman and Norma. Lillian is part of my family tree. She was a great-great aunt to me. I have the family tree on the Degans. I could use some help on the dates of the Birrs though.

Have a good day..
He had the following children Karl Birr (whom I understand had a son called Richard) August,Frank,John,Herman,Minnie & Bertha. Augusts parents were Ferdinand & Caroline Birr (nee Stecker).
I have the full biography of August and I am interested in tracing other family members to build a family tree.
