My grandfather was Louis Bissonnette b. 1886, born in Ham Nord, PQ., son of Theodore Louis Bissonnette and Emilie Duquette. Is this the same tree? MY grandfather later moved to Manchester NH in the 1930's.

I was reading your post and noticed the sub district name of Ham North (Fr. Nord) and was interested because my grandfather Louis Bissonnette was born there around 1886. Any connection? He had around 15 siblings also. His father was Theodore and mother was Emilie.

Thanks,

Bob Cloutier
Venice , FL

Hello, I saw your posting on today's Canada - General board saying the one you posted yesterday had disappeared. I thought I'd let you know that the Administrator of that Board rapidly deletes or transfers any posting that does not pertain in a very general way to Canada broadly. It doesn't have anything to do with paying, as you don't have to be pay to post on these boards. Have a look at the type of postings they have left on that board. If they think a posting is repeated elsewhere, I think they just delete it. If you want to have a broad audience in Canada view your posting, post it either on the Canada GenWeb board, or on the board of the province(s) you think might be pertinent. Of course, you could also post it on the Canada board of http://genforum.genealogy.com

Diana Gendron
Thank you for your information. Do you have any information on their children? If this is the correct Paul Parent he is my 2nd Great Grandfather. I am related through Paul's son Joseph Parent born 1841. I am trying to confirm this information for my Mother's 90th birthday celebration. Thanks again.

Hello,
I am searching for descendents of Henry Alfred Narcisse Bissonnette. Henry was born 1860 in Vercheres, Quebec. He moved with his father and siblings to Fitchburg, MA, then on to Akron, OH. He was a witness at his brother George's wedding in 1881 and that's that last documentation of him. A great uncle told us years ago that "Uncle Henry" moved to Wisconsin. I would like to trace his movement and family.
Thanks in advance!
Peggy

May I ask, too, does Emelie Bissonnette (married to Joseph Coallier dit Novion) fit into this family? Does Sarah Parent fit into this family, either in the generation born about 1795-1835, or perhaps the next generation born about 1834-1840? Either of these people sound familiar in perhaps the Varennes or Boucherville areas? How about Antoine Gauthier? Does he fit in at all with either the Bissonnette or Parent family? I have Antoine Gauthier and Sarah Parent as Godparents to an ancestor who would be a grandchild of Emelie Bissonnette and I could never figure out how they were part of the family. Thank you.

Albert Bissonnette married to Leah Beatie in Canada

I am looking for birth and death information for my dad's fathers parents; my grandfather, George Albert Emil Bissonnette's parents. My grandfather is listed in the WW I Draft Registration as a stock clerk at Fisk Rubber Company in Chicopee Falls, Ma. at age 26. He was living at 54 Union St. in Holyoke, Ma. He was born in Holyoke, Ma. on Nov. 17, 1891 and died Feb. 28, 1980. In Sept. 1919 he married Meta Denton-Bissonnette. My grandfather's parents are listed on his Death Certificate as Albert Bissonnette and Leah Beatie, born in Canada. I don't know if my grandfather came to the United States after his parents died or they came to the United Stastes but were buried in Canada after they died. My grandfather was a cousin to Jeanne Bissonnette-Wade of Island Pond, Vermont and Lucinda Bissonnette-Hill of Huntington, Vermont. I am trying to figure out how cousin Jeanne's Bissonnette family is related to my grandfather. As a child my family and I took many trips to Island Pond, Vermont to visit cousin Jeanne and her husband Nelson but I never thought to ask my grandfather or father how they were related. Is there any Bissonnette relative who might have the answer to this question? Cousin Lucinda E-mailed me the Bissonnette Family Tree but my dad and grandfather aren't listed on the Family Tree.
Annmarie J.

I am searching for my grandfather's parents, Albert Bissonnette married to Leah or Lea Beatie in Canada. At some point they left Canada and settled in Holyoke, Massachusetts where my grandfather, George Albert Emile was born 17 Nov 1891 and died 28 Feb 1980.
My grandfather is a cousin to Jeanne Bissonnette-Wade b. 23 Nov 1912 and still living.
Does anyone know how many brothers George Emile Bissonnette, b. 21 July 1870 d. 24 Dec 1949 had? His wife was Victoria Ann Pariseau b. 3 aug 1879 d. 8 Sept 1959. I'm thinking my grandfather might be one of his sons. I'm waiting for my grandfather's social Security Record to come in the mail to see if it has any additional info on his parents as I can't seem to find any Albert Bissonnette married to a Lea (Leah or Dea)Beatie in Canada as I have no idea what part of Canada they were from. I have a copy of my grandfather's birth Certificate and they listed wife of Albert Bissonnette as Des Bertie, as the Clerk's Office said the original record was so old, it was hard to read her name.

Thank for the help
Annmarie J.
I'm thinking this George E. Bissonnette could be a brother to Albert Bissonnette, my grandfather's dad. The problem is my cousin, Jeanne Bissonnette-Wade has George E. Bissonnette married to Victoria Pariseau on the Family Tree but.... don't know if George had any brothers or sisters, which might explain where Albert Bissonnette comes from. I can't even find a Lea or Leah Beatie married to an Albert Bissonnette in Canada and that's where my grandfathers parents were born. I'm at a dead end with my dads fathers side of the family. I can only get my dad, grandfather and can't go back any farther on my family tree until I discover who his great grandfather and wife were.
Annmarie
BlondiNativeAme3@Yahoo.com
Southampton, Massachusetts
I can't thank you enough for this information. It is exactly what I was trying to find out.
My grandfather, George Albert Emile Bissonnette was born Nov. 17, 1891 and died Feb. 28, 1980 at the home of his son Robert (deceased) who lived next door to my dad.
My dad George Joseph Emile Bissonnette,Sr., b. 11 Apr 1925 d. 3 Mar 1999 was actually the 3rd. son of my grandfather. I was told son #1 and #2 had died in infancy and after my dad came his brother, Robert Albert Bissonnette and Paul David Bissonnette was my dads youngest brother. From what you discovered for me, it looks like my grandfather had 4 children before my dad was born. My dad was the oldest (born 1925)of 3 boys and only my Uncle Paul is alive now. Again, sincere thanks for this missing part of my dads family. The first chance I get to go to the Springfield Library and Museum, I'm going to check to see what the missing children names were and try to get a copy of their birth and death certificates. I was also told their first 3 sons were named George Albert and after they died and dad was born in 1925, they decided to name him George Joseph because they wanted their luck to change and hoped changing the name my dad would live and he did. I do know that Jeanne Bissonnette-Wade married to Nelson Wade and my grandfather were cousins and now I probably can figure out how from cousin Jeanne's Family tree she E-mailed me along with this info from you.
Thank you so much.
Ms. Annmarie J.
Re: Albert Bissonnette married to Leah (Lea) Beatie abt. 1889

First about the siblings of George-Emile:
I have the baptism, marriage and burial indexes for Longuueil, Chambly Co., QC. They indicate that George had only 2 siblings --
Jean-Baptiste born 08 Jun 1859 and buried 16 Oct 1860 at Longueil
Marie Adeline born 03 Apr 1861
George-Emile born 21 Jul 1870.
Their father Jean-Baptiste was buried from Longueil on 30 Jan 1870, 6 months before George was born. It is possible that between 1861 and 1870 there were other children born or baptized in another place.
Second about Albert:
According to the 1900 Census for Holyoke, MA Albert Bissonette was born in Canada in Aug 1866 and immigrated to the US in 1880. He is not found in the US 1880 Census. His wife Lea was born in Canada in December 1871 and came to the US in 1881. All indications were that they were married in the US around 1891. By the 1900 Census they had had 4 children but only George N. Bissonette age 8 was living. I suggest examining the Massachusetts marriage records which are available from your local Family History Center.
