Looking for information on Bertha or Berta Bittner, b. July 30, 1849 in Germany, d. Detroit, MI Dec 27, 1903. Her father may have been Gottfried Bittner of Breslau, Germany. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1868 and married Julius Lichtenberg in Detroit. Julius was b. Oct. 1848 and emigrated in 1865 from Prussia. He was a carpenter. Julius and Bertha lived on St. Antoine, and later built a house on Sheridan in Detroit. They had three daughters, Elsie Maria, b. 1873; Alvina b. 1875; and Emilie Barbara, b. 1877 (my ggrandmother). The family attended St. Johannes Ev. Protestant Church in Detroit, and are buried in Roseland Park Cemetery in Royal Oak, MI.
