This TN/MO Black family is NOT my BLACK ancestors.
Mine are Elizabeth Black (Smith) 1766 Wythe Co VA "... The SPINSTER daughter of James BLACK," on her Dec 19, 1793 marriage to Joseph A. SMITH in Prince Edward (formerly Amelia) County Virginia. Her surety was 'signed" by a John Black (a brother, or uncle). Who her mother was is Unknown.
My Elizabeth died in 1841 Johnson Co. IND. This is ALL the info I have on her -my GGGG grand mother.
There "maybe" some relation to a Missouri/Kansas family named Pemberton or Cusick, or Roach, but nothing positive.
Your BLACK surname may include a non-relative family from Frederick Co VA who settled later in Blount Co. TENN and some buried in Eusebia Cemetery. Care to comment?
