I'm trying to find more information about William Blackmore, who married Elizabeth Elliott in Plymouth in 1847.
There is no mention of either of them in the 1951 census, however their oldest son (John James Elliot Blackmore, aged 2) is mentioned as living with his maternal grandparents.
By 1861, John James is at a boarder at The Greenwich Hospital School and Elizabeth is widowed, living with her two younger children.
I 'suspect' that since his son was admitted to The Greenwich Hospital School (later The Royal Hospital School) William was a fallen sailor of some sort, but I have failed to find any more information on him.
I'd be grateful of any information anyone might have.
