See my Blackwelder Genealogy web site at http://arslanmb.org/blackwelder/blackwelder.html . You'll find Wilson Monroe Blackwelder in the listing of descendants of John Adam Blackwelder. W. M. is #43381 in my database. He is a son of David Blackwelder (#4338) and his first wife M. Emily (last name not known). W. M. has three children, as far I can tell: Wilson Dean (b. 1893), David Lee (b. 1896), and Earle Crocheron (b. 1899).

In the 1930 census of Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, W. M. (age 72) is a clergyman at the Baptist Church.

All I have on W. M. is on my web site. Look at each of my census listings and search on "#43381".

Rev. W. M. Blackwelder was pastor of Northport Baptist Church at Northport in Tuscaloosa Co. AL from 1888-1890.

He was pastor of Centre Ridge Baptist Church at Carlowville, Alabama (in Dallas Co. AL), from]
Jan. 6, 1895 to June 30, 1896.

I lost track of him after that, but I think he was a
pastor at Fairfield in Jefferson Co. AL in the 1930's.
Can someone confirm or deny?

Where is he buried? Who were his parents? Whom
did he marry? Where was he born? Who were his children?

Someone from the Blackwelder family has posted all the birthdates and deathdates for Samuel Lewis Thornburg's brothers and sisters and Samule Lewis Thornubrg's father Lewis Thornburg on Ancestry.com Public Memeber Trees. I would appreciate it if that person to contacts me at ronandjeanette@yahoo.com.
Looking for information regarding Wayne Blackwelder

Sherrill "Wayne" Blackwelder was born on April 2, 1893, and I am his great grandson. His parents were Silas and Ellen Blackwelder of North Carolina.

Wayne had three children: Gladys (born in New London, NC, 1912), William E (my grandfather, born in Ellerbe, NC, 1915), and S.W (born in Scotland County, 1921. Wayne was married to Grace Torrence.

In the early 1920's, Wayne left his family and did not return. We have heard a rumor that he died in a Cabarrus County Hospital around 1930. We don't know if Wayne re-married and had other children.

If anyone knows of a story about a "Wayne Blackwelder", please let me know. Thank you.

You need to be familiar with the numbering system. Look at the link labeled "Explanation of Format of Descendant Listings" at http://arslanmb.org/desckey.txt. All children of an individual will have that individual's descendant ID with one digit added to the end. The first child's ID will end in 1, second child 2, third child 3, . . . tenth child A, eleventh child B, etc. If you would like a listing with just an individual and their child, let me know and I'll send it to you. Just send me an e-mail at marslan@nc.rr.com.

Mary Ann Blackwelder NC, or SC

My Grandmother always told me of a small "Dutch" women, who she didn't know anything about. She said when she passed away she was around 98 years old. She said she was around 10 at the passing of her great Grandmother. She has asked me to find as much information as she could on her. I have several pictures, but no dates. After looking at her daughters Death Record I found her name was Mary Ann Blackwelder. Her daughter's name was Ethel Elizabeth Osborne (3/8/1877- 11/15/1962). Her husbands name was John Osborne, but I have no dates for him. She may have lived in the Fort Mill area at later parts of her life. Do these names sound familiar? Help is greatly appreciated!

He later resided in Indian Land SC near Fort Mill and Lancaster SC. He was married first to Dovie Roberta Harris of Indian Land and later to Bessie ?. Any info that can be shared would be awesome! But, she did tell other members of our family that she had a brother who died as an infant. I also checked out the Black Blackwelders website and you have a Carrie Blackwelder listed there.

I am looking for information about Harold Blackwelder from the Ashville, NC. area. I know his father had a BBQ restaurant in Ashville. Harold married Bernice Fowler, b. 1903, from Brookville, Kansas. They were in Chicago during the 1930's and early 40's. He was a bass player, I think in a trio. They then moved to Alexandria, (Arlington?) Va in the late 40's and in the 50's he was in the restaurant business. He was my uncle.
I have lost track of them and would appreciate any information about death dates and place; any info regarding his parents and siblings.
Thanks - Bob Dunn

I see that George and Nellie had two daughters born in Burke County, North Carolina: Leta Ann in 1969 and Dana Jill in 1971. He was in his 50s at the time. I am not aware of any prior marriage for George, but it could certainly be a possibility.

Here is the information I abstracted from the death certificate of George's mother. She died of some kind of neuralgia (probably facial, I couldn't make out the handwriting). Holly Springs Township is about 5 miles from my house. At the time of her death, George was not quite 4 years old.

14 Sep 1917	Blackwelder, Maggie M.
[female], married
b. 20 Nov 1881, Rowan Co., NC
d. 14 Sep 1917, Holly Springs Twp., Wake Co., NC
cause: ineficial? neuralgia
buried @ Holly Springs, NC
father: George Morgan (b. NC)
mother: Harriet M. Holsouser? (NC)
informant: George Morgan (of Apex, Route 5)
filed in Book 276, p. 266

In the 1920 census, I see that George, his twin sister Mary, and younger brother Caleb are living in their paternal grandfather Littleton Caleb Blackwelder's household in Coats, Harnett County, North Carolina. Also in the household are their recently-widowed father Fred and two of Fred's siblings.

I have not found George or his father in the 1930 census. George's younger brother Caleb was living with his paternal grandfather in Buckhorn Township in Wake County (just west of Holly Springs Township, adjacent to the Harnett County line).

If you would ask your friend to send me an e-mail, I can give her information on the rest of her father's family (siblings, first-cousins, etc.). My web site shows the generations down to her grandfather's generation. The rest are not shown for privacy reasons.
