I am looking for information on 3 [possibly 4] brothers of the Blake family from Suffolk who emigrated to Saskatchewan at about the above dates. Their parents were John Blake and Mary Ann Gooch who, in 1901 had settled in Bedingfield.
Alfred John Blake born in Cotton 1873/4 and emigrated to a homestead near Humbolt in 1907.
Bert Gooch Blake born in Rickinghall 1887/8, of Leslie Sask. who was a "homesteader on the land at NW quarter section of section 31, Township 30, Range 12, West of the Second". Sorry, I don't know what that means except that it's to do with a deed - he was "granted patent after proving the land" in 1908.
Fred Blake born in Gislingham 1883/4, also of Leslie Sask. A homesteader on the land at SW quarter section of section 24, Township 31, Range 13, West of the 2nd meridian in 1907.
The possible fourth brother is John Edward Blake born in Bacton in 1878/9, of Fairland Sask. In March 1904 he began to prove the land at NE quarter of section 34, Township 30, Range 13, West of the 2nd meridian, who also received papent after proving the land.
Can anyone out there shed any light on these 4 men - or indeed what they were doing?
I have lots of information about their ancestry here in England, particularly the Blake line [soon hopefully to have much more], and would be glad to share it with anyone who can help - especially descendants.
Thanks Paul Campbell
