For 40 years I worked for the London Fire Brigade, which is rather less glamorous. Anyway, here are some thoughts on your message. Grandfather's first name was Albion, but many people called him Albert. Tec was my father's nickname. I think it's a traditional one, deriving from the fictional detective Sexton Blake.
