There will be a memorial service on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Youngstown, Mahoning county, Ohio for Judith Blakely, 65, who passed away Sunday morning, June 21, at Hospice of the Valley after fighting a short illness.
Judith was born May 5, 1944 in Honolulu, the daughter of Seian and Haruko Uyehara.
She was a graduate of Kaimuki High School and a U.S. Army veteran.
Judith met James Blakely while both were serving in the military and married him on May 11, 1968. Together they celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary last May.
Judy was employed at Sniderman Bros., working as a bookkeeper for 21 years.
Mrs. Blakely is survived by her husband, James; son, Daniel; and her brother, Paul Uyehara.
Judy was a kind, spiritual person without a “mean” bone in her body, who was loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
At her request, she will be cremated and her ashes will be returned to the ocean near her childhood home in Hawaii.
