Surnames: Blancett, Adams, Henson, Offut, Allsup, McCunningham
I am looking for information on a Harden Blancett, grandfather of Johnsie ADAMS B 1900 in Oklahoma and John HENSON b shortly after 1900 in Oklahoma. Both are born out of wedlock to Harden's daughter, Lizzy (Elizabeth?).
I have no information on Lizzie's mother, or on Johnsie and John's respective father's. Family story says that Harden disowned Lizzy for taking up with half-breed Indians, and also that Harden was part Indian himself.
Johnsie ADAMS was adopted by Irena OFFUT b 1867 MO, and husband John ALLSUP b 1871 IL, who ran a boarding house together in Owassa OK, near the Cherokee reservation. Johnsie married John Dean MCCUNNINGHAM in Texas, and later moved with her husband and Irena ALLSUP to California.
John HENSON attended the Carlisle Indian school.
Harden may be the Harden Blancett of Patrick Co., VA, b ABT 1840, but I cannot find any information on this Harden's wife and/or children. Please contact me if you have any information to share.
