I am looking for a Blanche that faught for the Union during the Civil War. He deserted and went to the Dekots's Both North and South/
He changed his last name to Groves..
He was a guide for Theadore Roosevelt to the badlands.
He raised his family in Springfield , Illinois and had one son that we know of Arthur Heeman Groves born in Springfield, Illinois.
We don't know of who he married.
Arthur married Willie Pearl Knighton
