Classification: Query
Surnames: BLANCHE, BLANCE, SMITH
I am seeking information on descendants of Robert BLANCHE and Harriett Smith of London, England.
Here is what I know about this BLANCHE family:
• Robert Henry BLANCHE (b. 1871 Poplar, London) was the eldest son of Thomas BLANCE (original spelling) of Shetland and Margaret SAUVAGE of Bromley, London. Robert’s occupation was “Lighthouse Keeper.” Harriett Mary Smith (b. 1870 Devon, England) was the daughter of Hugh Smith of Devon, England and Ambrosine __?__ of Devon, England.
• Robert BLANCHE and Harriett Smith married on 2 August 1899 in Devonport, Devon, England and they had a least two children: 1) Arthur BLANCHE (b.1900, South Wales) and Ada Alexandra BLANCHE (b. 1902, Poplar, London). This family was living at 21 Woodstock Rd., Poplar, London in 1902, while Robert was listed as Assistant Lighthouse Keeper, on Ship “Maplin” at Shelford Creek Foulness Island, Essex. After 1902 I lose their trail.
Does anyone recognize any of these names? A second cousin in California would like to correspond with possible descendants.
