Thank you for the response. After checking out the names and all I came to the conclusion that unfortunately the Blankenship family you found is not the same one I am looking for. I do greatly appreciate you efforts on my behalf.
Thanks again,
Charmaine

Ida Blankenship Jenkins

I am looking for information on Ida. I know she was married to Milner Garfield "Med" Jenkins. She was born about 1886. They lived in Georgia. Children I have are Lee Jenkins and Lela (Lelia)Jane(?)Jenkins. Lelia married Berrie Baggett with whom she had 9 children. Including my Father in Law Edgar Melvin Baggett. He says Ida was full blooded Cherokee. And her fathers name was Pink. Pink was killed in Elijay Georgia. But that is all he knows. Any light anyone can shed on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
Charmaine

John Leonard Blankenship, 1873 OH - 1958 CA

Hello,
I am also interested in the information that has been put together concerning the Blankenships. The 500+pages. I tried the email addy of jkblank@avci.net and it was returned.

My husband's great grandfather was John Leonard Blankenship; b. July 16 1873, Lawrence Co., OH; d. Oct. 27 1958 Riverside, CA.

He married Cora Exminnie Willis; b. May 30 1874, Aid OH; d. June 10 1957 Riverside, CA.

Their children were:

1. Sadie (changed her name to Lorraine) Rachel Blankenship (married - Carbone, Mead, Knapp) b. July 12 1903, OH; d. April 10 1983, Los Angeles, CA; (daughter Roxie Carbone & son Ray Mead)

2. John Leonard Jr. Blankenship b. 1896;

3. Maude (Mandie?) Blankenship b.1898;(mom called her Maude)

4. Roxie P Blankenship (married - Adams) b. April 1 1900, d. June 1994, Las Vegas, Nevada. (son named Jim Adams, died in the 1990s at same address a his mom.);

5. A little brother named Jimmie Blankenship died from pneumonia between 2-3 years old. Not sure when born.

possibly 6. Cora Francis Blankenship (there was a grand daughter by that name whose brother was Ray Blankenship - my mom's cousins, so am not sure);

I believe I'm correct when I say that Presley Blankenship was John's father & Mary A. Jacks his mother. But am not 100% sure and need to know in order to follow that line.

I have some info about Great Grandma Cora, dates, names, etc. Starting with her gr grandparents Joshua Willis b. 1776, d. 1879 & Mary Blankenship b.? d.1857. (this is also another line with Blankenship for me to learn about)

My mom-in-law, Roxie Carbone 1920-2007(Cherry,Peterson) said that her Grampa John was part Blackfoot Indian but that there was no information concerning it. I've noticed a few Cherokee in the Blankenship line and am wondering if that would probably be more likely.

I'm hoping that your database will give me a few leads. There are so many possibilities!

Thank you so much for your help!
Sylene Peterson
syl_pet@hotmail.com
Wyoming Co., was created in 1850, from Logan Co., that is where to look for the marriage record.

You put her DOB as 1916, should it be 1816?

IF so Logan Co., was crested in 1824 from the counties of Cabell, Giles, Kanawha, and Tazewell.

Jim
