      <description>Dear Janet, &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The last few generations lived in Arkansas, many of them in Randolph County.  Soula Blansett and Rebecca Gregory were my great grandparents. Does that help?   Further back, they seem to come through Tennessee from North Carolina.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I think you can click on my name to go to my profile and see the family trees I've put togther.  </description>

      <description>I am seeking scanned (i.e., digitized) images of Blansetts, Methenys (through Menona Belle Metheny line), Riggs (through Roscoe Riggs line).  If you or your family have any photos of my family, would you consider scanning them and either attaching them to a message here, or sending me a note so that I can send you an e-mail address to send them to.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Why do I want these images?  I'm told a very few photos were destroyed in a basement flood at my parents, and that others have just been widely dispersed to other family members, or simply lost.  I'd like to show my little girl where she came from!  &lt;br&gt;I would be very grateful!  &lt;br&gt;Lisa</description>

      <description>Thanks for the info on Jane.  I believe Peter and his first wife, Frances Ward, were my GGGgrandparents. So Jane was a half-sister to my GGgrandfather William who married Elvira Johnson. I have no dates for them. </description>

      <description>My great-grandmother was born about 1885.  She is from Chickasaw, MS had my grandfather in 1900. His name was William Bridges.  Bettie is show on the cencus as S. Elizabeth Youngblood, AKA Bettie Blanchett.  I had heard growing up that she had my grandfather when she was 14.  I had also been told she was Cherokee.  She also used the name Nix at one time.  Family members have said that she died in West Memphis, Arkansas around 1940? in a nursing home in her 40's and that she had dementia.  &lt;br&gt;PLEASE HELP :)</description>

      <description>Thank you for the reply. My James was James M BLANSET. I have since found his death date Dec 1863 and buried in the Nat'l cemetery in Knoxville, TN His widow filed for pension.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I have this James Blanset that I wonder if is mine or another:&lt;br&gt; Blanset, James&lt;br&gt; Confederate&lt;br&gt; Infantry&lt;br&gt; 34th Regiment, Tennessee Infantry (4th Confederate Infantry) &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The reason I believe this is my James Blanset is he is from TN and you see his widow married Isaac McBee who was confederate. The Blansets and McBees were neighbors. Now the 2 men could have held different views but how hard would it be to be the widow of a union and marry a conf? Puzzle.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I have learned that sometimes captured soldiers could take the oath of alliegence and not go to prison, so maybe he did that.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks again.</description>

      <description>Could this be James Cloyd Blanset (Blanchet, Blancet) who was born on 28 Jul 1841 in Virginia?(Withams, Accomack, Virginia)&lt;br&gt;Family story is that he deserted from the Conf. Army and fled west.  He died in 1922 in Lander, Fremont, Wyoming.  He married Clara Annette Larsen on 11 Jan 1880 in Fairview, Utah.</description>

      <title>Blanset - Cheever marriage</title>

      <description>Victoria, Ann, or anyone:  &lt;br&gt;There's a record in the Macon County, Missouri marriage files (familysearch.org) of a marriage between William J Blanset and Mary A Cheever, 28 Feb 1884. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Anyone know for sure who that William J Blanset is? Would he be the William Blansett, 51, in the Macon County, MO (Randolph Twp) census of 1910, with wife Mary, 50, and children Lewis, Bessie, and Daccie?   I have him tentatively identified as William Jackson Blanset, son of Julia A Blansett (who died single, one child out of wedlock, according to Vaden Mayers in "John C Rowland, Missouri Pioneer").  Mayers states that Julia's son Jackson "married a Tate near Bevier" and had a "daughter Ruth."  Anyone know who the Tate is?  Could Jackson have had two wives?  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;And who is Mary Cheever's family?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks for ideas!  Janet Wright</description>

      <description>daughter of Francis Ward and Peter Blanset, Larena (Serena) Irene Blansett (1817 Warren Co., KY - d 1864, Macon Co. MO) married John Crawford Roland( 2/16/1811 Warren Co. KY - d 10/20/1886, Macon, MO).  They had 6 children I know of, John Crawford Rowland(abt 1836), David Crockett Rowland(abt 1838), Frances Elizabeth Rowland(abt 1840 and Minerva Irene (5/31/1844)Rowland, Nancy Mary Rowland (1847)and William Younger Rowland (b-1850). Larena/Serena is the only one of the children I have further information on.  I hope this helps.</description>

      <title>Looking for Death of James BLANSET (1863-65 Civil War)</title>

      <description>I am looking for the exact death date for James BLANSET listed in the roster as  Pvt G Co 34th Infantry TN. He died between 1863 and 1865. The only way he could have died earlier was to not be the father of a child born in 1864. The reason it could have been as late as as 1865 is because his widow Sarah Wells Blanset married Isaac McBee in  1865.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;James and Sarah were the parents of Lourina and Mary Catherine BLANSET. Mary married Abraham HARRIS in TN.&lt;br&gt;Thanks</description>

Rowland, to Kitty Ann Rowland and Joseph Meyer,  to Anna Mayer (changed spelling)  who married Edgar Lee Cheever (my grandparents).  I'm struck also by your last name because Edgar's  grandmother was Elizabeth Clingerman/Klingerman, etc. She and her husband Ralph C. Cheever came to Macon Co. MO from Kosciousko Co. Indiana. I know it is the right person because the other family members match:&lt;br&gt;1850 Collin Co., Texas p 19 family 254 - Daner Coffey, 37, b Missouri&lt;br&gt;1860 Comfort Twp, Kerr Co., Texas p 70B family 49 - Dayne Coffey, 50, b Arkansas&lt;br&gt;1870 Sisterdale P. O., Kendall Co., Texas p 129 family 35 - Dine Coffey, 56, b Tennessee&lt;br&gt;1880 Kimble Co., Texas, Enum Dist 96 family 60 - Diana Coffee, 60, b Tennessee&lt;br&gt;1900 Menard Co., Texas, Enum. Dist. 93 family 89 - Diana Coffee, 86, b May 1814, b Missouri&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I believe Diana was the oldest child of Peter Blanset and Frances Ward.  If we could be sure of her birth date and place, it would help determine where and when Peter and Frances were married, so I would love to have that information!  I am another "cousin" to you -- Diana's younger brother Peter, who married Mary Ann Hughs, was my great-great grandfather. I have some notes that you made (post-its added to Gedcoms) that give death dates for two of the children: &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;John Thomas Blancett d Dec 1937 Ozark Dist, Franklin Co. Arkansas&lt;br&gt;William Joseph Blancett d 25 Dec 1940 Denning Arkansas&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Can you tell me where you got these death dates?  I'm not finding John Thomas Blancett in the census after 1870.  Also do you have a death date for their brother Harden b 1862 (not mentioned in estate documents)?&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thanks again for giving us access to the estate files !  Janet</description>

      <description>Peter Blansett, d 1873, husband of Frances Ward and Peggy Sumpter was my ggg grandfather.  I have just posted to this message board transcripts of Peter's pension applications for War of 1812 service in the East Tennessee Militia.  In census reports this Peter is listed as born in Virginia and North Carolina.  Blansetts lived on both sides of the VA-NC line (Patrick County Virginia, Surry-Stokes County NC) around 1800.  After 1830, Peter lived in northern Missouri.  Victoria Clingman is also a descendant of Jane Blansett; I suggest you contact her (she has posted to message boards).  I'd be interested in more information on Jane and siblings.  Have tried to get background on Frances Ward, with no luck.</description>
