My information on Michael Blatz is that he is from nobility in Germany. He was the son of the King's family. He lived in a castle where the Rhine and Necker Rivers join, not far from Mannheim and Heidleberg, Germany. He was a Doctor of Philosophy and his 2 sons were well educated in Heidleberg. In 1812, during the Napoleon wars, Michael, his 2 sons, Daniel and Andrew and his wife, fled to Russia. They loaded up all they could carry into two handcarts and walked to the Molochei area in Russia. His sons Daniel and Andrew taught school. The family was of the Catholic faith, but Daniel was baptized in the Mennonite faith in Russia.
Daniel married and had 4 sons, Daniel, Abraham, Peter and Andrew. Daniel the eldest emigrated to Canada in 1874. His 2nd wife was Helena Penner, born Feb 4, 1825 in Eigengrund, Russia and she died in Russia on Apr 1, 1866, after having 9 children. His first wife was Susanna Falk, they had two children. His third wife was Helena Remple and they had 2 children together.
My line follows Daniel and Helena Penner's son Daniel born Dec 24, 1851, in Russia who married Agatha Dyck, born Oct 6, 1853 and died Mar 12, 1916. They were married Aug 15, 1871 and had 12 children, all born in Lowe Farm, Manitoba, Canada.
I hope any of this helps you. Unfortunately, I cannot find a U.S. link.
