Hello Linda,

I remember you very well indeed! Moreover I remember your dad Jack, mum Annie and your brothers Robert & Johnny. Last but not least I recall your wonderful dog Hoggin and his trolley bus trips down into Twickenham. I also remember most of the Blay family - including Charlie and his needle work - and what a lovely smiling warm face your mum had. Rather obviously I remember Jim Gilkes and what a long suffering life my poor gran had. By any objective measure Jim wasn't a good man but he knew how to entertain kids and I recall some wonderful times being taken on trips around the country. Yes, I recall you arriving by Jim's sidecar and thinking how big you were compared to me. Size is always a relative thing to children! I'm in regular contact with my friend Judith Roberts, Doris Blay's daughter, by email but we have yet to meet.

I'd love to stay in contact. My personal email address is john.stratford@runbox.com.

Best wishes,

John
