I'm looking for information about the marriage of Sterling (or Starling) Harden (may be recorded as Harding) to Rachel Thornton. The marriage would have likely occurred before 1780 in North Carolina, perhaps in Granville or Bute County. Sterling was born before 1750 and I don't know who his parents were, although it's possible his father was John Harding. Rachel was the daughter of Henry Thornton and Catherine Bledsoe.

Basically, all I have at this point is hearsay evidence. I would greatly appreciate anything you can give me on their marriage or Sterling's ancestry.
