Surnames: Blevins, Williams, Wallen
I have been doing research with key genealogist in the east TN area that are responsible for know fact about families in the east TN area. I started my family search looking for my Indian heritage and I have found some of that. I also stumbled on 5th generation great grandfather Dillon Blevins. He was from Pittsylvania VA and moved to Johnson County that was in that time carter county. I have found him in the carter county census and the other info has been confirmed by researchers in this area as Dillon's children.

1. DILLON1 Blevins was born Abt. 1773 in PITTSYLVANIA, VA., and died 1840. He married NANCY WILLIAMS. She was born Abt. 1780.

Notes for Dillon BLEVINS:
1830 carter county, TN. census for Dillian Blevins as head of the household:
1 male 0-5; 2 males 15-20; 2 males 20-30; 1 male 50-60; 1 female 0-5; 1 female 5-10; 1 female 15-20; 1 female 50-60.

Children of Dillon Blevins and NANCY WILLIAMS are:
+ 2 i. LOONEY2 Blevins, born Abt. 1820 in TENNESSEE.
3 ii. CLARK B. BLEVINS, born May 1819.
4 iii. ALLEN BILL (WILLIAM) Blevins, born November 10, 1824.
5 iv. MARY JANE Blevins, born Abt. 1828.

I descend from: Looney Blevins ,Allen William Blevins 2nd ,David Blevins ,Ted Blevins ,McArthur Blevins and Stephen Alfred Blevins.

The researchers have found that Dillons father was a brother of William Blevins "the long Hunters"Nephew, Names listed are James,John and then Dillon in notes of the Blevins family at the Jonesborough TENNESSEE Library. I was amazed to find one folder on the Blevins family in that library and it only had a few papers in it and was talking about the Wallens & Blevins from Pittsylvania that were among the first settlers in TENNESSEE. Local researchers have confirmed that Dillon came to Johnson County near mountain city and his Brother William Bill Allen Blevins did as well William can be found in North Carolina census.

I understand I may be one of the first to link my family to William Blevins and this a great honor for me and my family. I have discovered my line in the Garland family Cemetery in Stoney Creek, carter county TN very close to the Virginia line and Johnson County. There are about 20 or more unmarked graves there but all are listed there from Looney Blevins down to my father. I have started my own DNA group for people of the Stoney Creek area here on ancestry.com all Blevins are welcome to compare results. I will also offer my DNA markers to the Blevins DNA project with Owen Blevins.

I have traced my family beyond 1796 on both sides and qualify for the "TENNESSEE First Families" I have order the 1796 tax List from Nashville to prove Dillon was in fact living in the state of TENNESSEE during and before 1796 and will be an honor to have My family line of Blevins involved with TENNESSEE First Families.

I have spoke to those people and one other family in Sullivan County has connected to William Blevins through John Blevins. So.. just so you the story that nobody has connected to William Blevins is untrue..one family proved rancestry with a land deed with william and Johns name on it. It looks like that I may be in the same line of folks..i will find out soon
happy Hunting!
Stephen
