Lena Blickenstaff Stottlemyer Shepley has passed away. She was born in Ohio. Her parents were born in MD. Her mother died in 1918 and Lena was raised by Rev. Irving (Eb Joe) & Annie Marker Stottlemyer of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in MD. Her father Edward Blaine B. and brother Nathan Blaine B. returned to Leitersburg . His second wife was Virgie E. Leatherman. Only surviving child is Dorothy Blickenstaff Kline. Does anyone know the parents of Edward Blaine Blickenstaff ?

Mrs. Lena Levirl Shepley, 90, of Walkersville, Md. died Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.Lena was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on March 28, 1916, and was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Mabel S. Kline Blickenstaff. From the time she was two years old, she lived with her foster parents, the Rev. Irving and Annie Marker Stottlemyer.She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Luther Shepley, in 1968.Lena was a member of the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, and attended the Frederick Church of the Brethren, where she was a member of the Ladies Home Builders Class, and she also attended the Glade Valley Church of the Brethren, Walkersville. In 1969, she published a book of poems titled "101 Gems", and in 1986 another poetry book titled "Inspirations." Many of her poems were published over the years in the Frederick News-Post and the Middletown Valley Register. She loved her flower gardens and was very artistic in everything she did. She is survived by two sons, Larry F. Shepley and Milby Lee Shepley, both of Walkersville; and two daughters, Judith L. Burrier and husband Larry and Carolyn Ann Wiles, all of Frederick; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and one sister, Dorothy Kline of Washington County. Preceding her in death were eight brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, at the Grossnickle Church of the Brethren, Myersville, with Pastor Donna Ritchey Martin and Pastor Mike Watson officiating.Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Ricketts Funeral Home, Myersville, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Grossnickle Church of the Brethren,
