I just found a letter belonging to my aunt Milicent Blissett that she was going to post to Virginia Blissett in Holley New York. I a small note to Milicent was the phrase " I always enjoy it when my 4 grandaughters have the time to write me a small note. We are trying to find out how Virginia is related to David Orville Blissett who was born in Wisconsin. Or to William C. Blissett also of the Oshkosh Wisconsin Area.

I am trying to trace the family tree of william theselton blissett. I believe he was born in Liverpool in 1870, his parents are called Thomas and Annie. Thomas was born in approx 1841 in Smethwick, and Annie whose maiden name I don't know was born in Liverpool. They had sons called Gerrard, Joseph, Thomas and Florence. They had moved to Jersey in the 1881 census. Does anyone know this family, as I would love more information.

Blissett/Bankston Family

Need help with my brick wall. I am trying to prove that William R. Bankston, Andrew Jackson Bankston and Mary Ann Bankston are children of James E. Bankston.

In the early records of Jasper County and Butts County, Georgia, there was a James E. Bankston, Thomas Bankston and Abner Bankston, and others.

The reason for this posting is that lots of their documents and other items were witnessed and signed by your Blessit (name spelling varies) family members. These families seemed to move about, yet stay close to each other so there is going to be a close family connection between these families, where you find one, you find the other.

In your family search, have you run across any Bankston connections to the Blessits? Maybe in a Will there was some mention, a deed to some relative, possibly a marriage.

Would be most grateful for any information you would care to swap, trade or whatever.

Thanking you in advance for your reply.

Don Bankston
William Alexander Blissitt of Ga.

I am seeking the parentage of William Alexander Blissitt who was born in Ga. between 1845-1850. He married Martha Elizabeth Doyal in Spalding Co., Ga. on May 15, 1869. They divorced in 1882, and on Dec. 21, 1883 he married Rebecca C. Maddox. William died about 1925, and he and Rebecca are supposed to be buried in unmarked graves at the Maddox Family Cemetery in Spalding Co. I can't tie Willliam into the other Blissitt families in Spalding Co. and nearby areas.

Blissett

Looking for any information about a very elusive Roland Blissett, born around 1862 in Georgia. Father's name was Samuel Carter Blissett, mother Sarah (Thornton) Blissett. Found in the 1880 Census in Stewart County Georgia. Brothers, John (married to Lou), William, James, Thomas, and Charles. He married a Mittie Deshazo in (1883/1884), had three children including my grandfather, Thomas Blissett born 1891 in Georgia. He died in 1893, that is all I know about him or his father Samuel Carter Blissett. If you have any information please let me know at SlappyVega@aol.com

Thanks!

GLJ

I'm researching my Blissett family tree i have traced back to Warwick Blissett of Bermondsey,Middlesex,England. He married Charlotte Miller. They would have been married around 1854. One of their sons left England for Australia. I'm hoping that he has brothers and sisters that stayed in England. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

Blissett/Burdett 1770--80+England

In My family ancestry 3 Blisset Brothers--William, John, and Thomas married 3 Burdett sisters--Martha, Mary, and Elizabeth. William and Martha Burdett
John and Mary Burdett
Thomas and Elizabeth Burdett.

William and Martha is my main line. They had 12 children. Martha in 1798, Francis in 1800, William in 1803, Thomas in 1804, John in 1807, Sarah in 1808, Danial in 1810, Joseph in 1812, Ann in 1815, Elizabeth in 1817, David in 1819, and Mary in 1821. William left England in 1830 and settled in Oneida Co. New York. Three members of the family were left in England because they were sick with smallpox. Of the children it is written that William (possibly with wife and daughter) was one left because of illness. Thomas stayed in England as his wife refused to move to America (This person had three wives--one named Moulton). John is thought to have died in England. Daniel is believed to have died during the crossing. An there is speculation that one child was born during the crossing. I am particularly looking for information on the Father(Mother) of the tree original Blissett brothers and for information about their Grandfather (Grandmother). We have only a street name for any area in England---"Freestone Row" possibly the Yorkshire area (?)
