I have just started searching my fathers side of the family tree and have hit a dead end. My fathers name is Karl William Blom (which Karl and willaim seem to be both common names in Blom families) of Saratoga Wyoming (carbon County). His fathers name I believe was John Blom?? Who died at an early age. In my research I have found a John Blom died in 1988 and also a Carl Blom that died in 1995. I did find a Charles F Blom who had a son by the name of Carl and one by the name of John all residing in the Saratoga/ Rock Spring area. Please if you can give me any direction or help I would greatly appreciate it!!

I'm trying to find information regarding Anders Gustaf Blom. I don't know date of birth or location yet. All I know so far is that he is listed as a brother to my 2nd great grandfather, Jan (Johan) Nilsson. Jan was born (out of wedlock) Sept. 5, 1832 in Sunne, Varmland, Sweden to Nils Bengtsson and Maria Olsdotter. I have no idea where or how Anders Blom fits in yet. Has anyone found any information on this name that may fit in with my family?

Re. Swedish connection to Blom surname

Hi, I have discovered that my mothers' great grandfather originated from Piery, Sweden. His son William migrated to Australia (Victoria) and a mistake was made in the transposition of the name Blom to Bloom ( my mothers' maiden name). I have the certificate and you can see that the name was Blom.

The Swedish connection is through Alik Blom, who married Annie Aspblom. I would love to connect the dots to the Swedish side of the family and would also love to share my family line (Camperdown, Victoria, Australia) with others.

These people were the children of Jan (John) Blom, Jr and Aaltje Langstraat. Jan died when Johanna was a baby, Aaltje remarried to Govert O. VanderLinden and had another child, Gretchen Henrietta VanderLinden. Aaltje died and the Blom children were farmed out to other members of the community, primarily family. I am seeking info on Johan Anton Blom married Hilma Josefina Lutram abt. 1903. My grandfather Arnold John Blom was born in Merikarvia in 1904, his sister Jessie in 1906. Johan came through Ellis Island to Stevens, Minnesota where his brother Aleski lived, in 1906, without his family. Found Johan on 1910 Census in Biwabik, MN, with Hilma, Arno and Jessie, but there was also an Agnes Blom, 1 year old staying with them, but she was not a daughter. Can not find Aleski anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Mrs. Christena M. BLOM, 73 years old, died yesterday at her home, 1836 Claremont avenue, west of Independence. She was born September 18, 1853, at sea near England. Her husband, Frederick BLOM, died November 11, 1924. Mrs. BLOM had lived in Englewood fourteen years.

Surviving are a son, Henry BLOM, Buckner, Missouri, and four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth BRUNS, Knobnoster, Missouri; Mrs. Emma BICKEL, Levasy, Missouri; Mrs. Alma BICKEL, Muncie, Kansas; and Miss Anna BLOM of the home. The funeral services will be at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in the Evangelical church, Independence. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.

Hi. My name is Kenneth Karlsson, Sweden and I am trying to get any kind of information that maybe help me to found out more about Carl Andin Blom or Johan Peter Blom or their wifes and children or another relatives to Carl and Peter in USA.

They both left Gothenburg, Sweden late in the 1800's or early 1900's and moved to USA. Carl Blom was born 27-04-1881 and traveled together with his uncle Johan Blom who whas born 22-08-1855. Johan Blom was probably married with a Charlot. She died around 1917.

I have two letters from Carl Blom. The first letter is from 22-06-1919. His adress was then 14a 3 St, Tulsa Okla, USA.
The second letter is from 24-05-1921 and his adress this time was 207 Sout Main St, Tulsa Okla.

My maternal grandmothers maiden name was Blom. She and two brothers immigrated to the Chicago area from Sweden in the late 1800s. They were from Nedre Ullerud Parish, Varmland Lan, Sweden. My grandmother passed away in the 30s and my mother and other immediate relatives lost contact with the Blom side of the family. I came along late and never really met any Blom relatives that I can remember. If any decendents of Anders or Carl Blom see this message, get ahold of me as we may be relatives.
