I read the newspaper article too. I checked out the BC vital stats. I did find the following:
Oscar Ludvig Blomberg died Nov 11/1957 at the age of 69 in Vancouver
Oscar married Myrtle Averil Walker Jan 14/1926 in Vancouver.
Myrtle Averil Walker died apr 19/1958 at the age of 62 in New Westminster.
I don't know if any of this helps, but I will keep looking for more info.
