I grew up in South Mpls. Have lived in Rochester since about 1975. The family has gotten small and friends from the past are non-existant. Names like "Dunn" who lived on our block would be fun to find. Does Chicago Avenue ring a bell to anyone?

Bessie was my father, Earl Blomberg's mother. She died in Leominster Mass in 1919 as a result of the influenza outbreak.
She had three children two son's Leslie and Earl, and I believe there was a baby girl that died either in childbirth or at a very young age. I have no info on her. I don't have a record of their marriage but it must have been around 1907 or 1908. I am trying to research Carl A. Blomberg,1871-1958 also buried in Leominster. I don't know much yet only that he came here at age 15, met Bessie in Minneapolis and moved to Leominster where he worked in a Piano factory doing all the woodwork on the pianos. Please feel free to contact me. I did meet my Great Aunt Lil Sager in Minneapolis who was Bessie's sister. I do have pictures.
reikimom19@gmail.com
Elaine

I did find the following:
Oscar Ludvig Blomberg died Nov 11/1957 at the age of 69 in Vancouver
Oscar married Myrtle Averil Walker Jan 14/1926 in Vancouver.
Myrtle Averil Walker died apr 19/1958 at the age of 62 in New Westminster.
I don't know if any of this helps, but I will keep looking for more info.
Lynda

Hi all, I hope someone out there can give a little help. I am trying to help an elderly lady (she's 76) track a person down to give them some old family photos. Anyhow the person's name is

Shannon BLOMBERG b. 1946 she was adopted by Oscar\Oskar BLOMBERG and possibly Helga\Olga or Edith (Unknown).
They resided in Vancouver, BC, Canada at that time.
Shannon BLOMBERG was featured in a newspaper article in 70's about finding her birth mother's name in 1967.

Bless you and all your families,
Dee

"May we all have the strength to help one another, the courage to continue to love and the wisdom to know right from wrong."Write something about yourself.

Kyla,

Greetings from Massachusetts. If you remember, I am the husband of one of Sofia Blomberg's greatgrandchildren. please update me on your research into the westberg/blomberg lines. Specifically, any luck finding ancestry of Sofia Blomberg (1864-1922)? I have listed her mother was Maria. Any new information on that line? Also, I am trying to research more Swedish ancestry. I have towns where folks were born, with birth years, is there a way to use that information to determine parents, etc? email me if you have a chance. Thanks, William
wcmorton@hotmail.com

I need some information about Elnora C Blomberg, born 1878 in Germany. I believe she immigrated to the USA in 1890 with her parents (who I have no real record that these are her real parents...I've just put together pieces) Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm Blomberg (1850, Germany) and Elnora Robke (1853, Germany to 1921, Indiana, USA).

Elnora C Blomberg married John Rerondo Beninger March 25, 1897 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had at least 6 children, Elnora R, Herman R (my great-grandfather), Clarence W, Thelma M, John L, and Wilbur O.

Elnora C Blomberg died in 1933 in Indiana.

If anyone can assist me in verifying her parents' identities or help me with connecting my Blombergs with someone else's I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

My g father and father were both named Richard as is common in passing a family name down. Further back, I have no knowledge but it may be that your "Richard" was passed with mine from a common link. I
have yet to get any info on my Charles B. and his son Andrew B. Lots of genee work still to be done I guess. Regards and thanks again. R.B.

Gail at this time I do not know Bessie Augusta's husbands name. I could not locate her in Minn. through the 1919 death records so I am not sure if my death date is correct or if she did not die in Minn. I was talking to someone today that might have had his name and I forgot to reask him. I will be talking to him in the next couple of weeks so if you can get back to me say about June 15th I should know then. thank-you, Richard Hegg rhegg20721@aol.com

Hi again, I have not recieved the information aboult Bessie yet. the person that has the information has a family member that is dieing so I don't know much more than she was born Bessie Augusta Hagg (Hagg- Swedish spelling, Hegg-english spelling)September 10, 1877 in Smaland Sweden. She came to America with her family on October 15,1889. She lived in Mpls.,Minn.and worked as a domestic for a Jerome L. Stone according to the 1900 census. In the 1905 Mpls. census she is not listed. Her date of death is September 27, 1919 Some place other than Minnesota because the department of health has no record of her death in Minn.. She Had a sister that died in North Dakota and it is possible she died there but I won't know for sure until I can get a copy of the information my cousin has. There is a family reunion in July and if at all possible I will be going to it and hopefully i can get acopy of the family tree then. Contact me direct at rhegg 20721@aol.com That might be easier. thanks Richard Hegg

Re: Marriage of Ida Blomberg and Joseph Frost

Amy is my mother's cousin, (Hi Amy!) so I have been in touch with her directly, but I will post here in hopes someone else has more info for us.

I am seeking relatives of Sophie Wilhelmina or Wilhelmina Sophie BLOMBERG who married Gustav Andrew WESTBERG in Sweden about 1886. They came to the Boston area - Chelmsford/West Chelmsford in Middlesex County, Massachusetts - after their marriage. She was also known by Sophia.

I believe their children were born between about 1886 and 1905 and are:
Carl Gustaf Westberg b. Sweden (first wife Hazel)
Sophie Westberg b. Massachusetts (married a Mr. Hansen)
Helen M. Westberg b. Mass.
Lena Westberg b. Mass.
Mabel Westberg b. Mass.

I have some wonderful photos to share - and hope to find help identifying some.

My great grandmother Ida BLOMBERG (this couple's neice) was the daughter of Carl Johan Blomberg. She came into Boston from Sweden in 1907. She worked briefly as a maid. She went to Saunders Co., Nebraska and married Joseph FROST. She supposedly was a "picture" bride, meaning met through only the mail, but there are Blombergs near where she settled so I think their families were aquainted and fixed them up.

She had a cousin that I can't quite place named Anna TAYLOR with a son Frederick Taylor.

Ida's mother's name is unknown. I have a photo that I suspect is her. She became ill after losing three or so daughters young. One had heart failure jumping rope, if I recall. She went into an asylum and died there after a number of years. Her one son died in WWI according to family lore. Don't know if he ever came to the U.S.

Hope to hear from you. :-)
