Lois, Henry, Margaret Bloomer-KY,OH

Hi,

I am trying to research Lois St. John Bloomer. She was born to a Henry Bloomer and Margaret Bloomer on Oct 8th, 1813 in Green co. Kentucky. She and her parents moved near Cincinnati, Ohio in her earlychildhood. Her father, Henry Bloomer, died in Indiana in 1823. Her mother and her siblings moved back to Kentucky after his death. She married a John Randall Dec.11th 1842 in Scioto Co. Ohio. After the civil war they left Ohio and stayed a few years in Illinois near Peoria. They then moved and settled in Bloomfield, Davis CO, Iowa. Where she lived until she died in March of 1917! This was all stated in her obituary.

I have hit a road block and am hoping that someone can give me more information on Lois Bloomer, Henry Bloomer, and Margaret Bloomer.

Thanks!!

T. Bloomer

I am trying to find when my Great Grandparents were married and their ancestors. My Great Grandfather was T. Bloomer, my Great Grandmother was Bernie (Spivey) Bloomer. They are both buried in Carlsbad, NM. They were married somewhere in Oklahoma, we think in Ada, OK. We are not sure of the date or the town. I have contacted the County Clerk's Office and they did not have any records. We could have the wrong town or date. I believe T.'s father's name may have been Frank. I believe his mother was Aggie Jane Bloomer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Brenda

Hi all:

I am trying to see if I can connect my BLOOMER family tree into that of the original Robert BLOOMER, who lived in Rye. I have my tree going back as far as Thomas BLOOMER, who was b. around 1805 and d. in 1834. He married Elizabeth
___ and had one son, George Hays BLOOMER, who was b. 1830 and d. 28 Jul 1910. I believe Thomas' parents to be Monmouth and Anna BLOOMER, but I am unsure on this.

If anyone could offer any help, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Bryan

From Ely Wms "The Big Sandy Valley" 1887 (E.KY)

Says that DANIEL BLOOMER m: d/o Edmund Price. who was one
of the lst settlers in the valley.

Daniel Bloomer & Mr. McSorley, his partner in Tabor Salt Works, married sisters. The ref doesn't give the Price girl's given names. Mrs Daniel Bloomer-nee Price would be my direct ancestor. This info sent to me by a Bloomer researcher of another Bloomer line and is much appreciated.

Dexter C. (D.C.) and Amelia Jenks Bloomer

Does anyone know who the parents of Dexter C. Bloomer were? Or the names of his siblings? I know I am related because of a very old family Bible, but am having trouble figuring out the connection. There are Cartwrights (Cartright) in the Bible and the 1850 census shows a Juliet Cartright living with Dexter and Amelia. There are also Van Dykes in the Bible, and I know a female Van Dyke married a Bloomer in the mid1800s. This is my direct line (Van Dyke/Bloomer), but would like to know the connection between my direct Bloomer and Dexter Bloomer.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They lived South of Rogersville in Christian County and also in Springfield, Missouri. Mier died 02DEC1927 at home on North Main Street in Springfield, Missouri, but the Missouri Archives could not find a death certificate for him. Mier and Maude are buried in the Roller Cemetery in Christian County, but the tombstone shows Mier as N.M. Bloomer. They had three children, Beulah Elois, Roscoe Daniel Franklin, and Beatrice Deloress. I would appreciate any additional information on this family. I have not yet been able to find them in the census'. And I do not know who Mier's father was.

Emily (Emma) Florence Bloom(er)-Gardner (Geo.W.)

Two prominent New England lines produced this couple, but they show being married in KY. George Washington Gardner's dad was Joseph Gardner, who married Marie TC(Sophia)Raison. Her brother, Louis, married into the Young family, in KY and their sister, Louise, married a dutchman either in Cuba, or before fleeing St.Domingo, during the slave revolts, when Napoleon lost his efforts to keep the French holdings, both there and in America. (late 1700's-early 1800's)Geo W. Gardner's parents are buried in Barboursville, WVa, where they had at least one child marry into a prominent Miller/Mueller family, there. There's a website which lists a lot of names, but no history connecting the names. Put in the surname, Bratcher, into any search engine, to find it. & use the index to look for connections (tho there are more than show up in the index, there). Emma Bloomer and Joseph Gardner had several children, one being my GGgrandmother, Virginia Carolina/Carylon Gardner; who married into another French Hueguenot family, my Subletts, who descended from their lst colony, in Mannekintown, VA. , but were living in KY, also, by then. The Raison/Young line is well documented, but his sister's lines are not so evident. I am looking for more on the Bloomer/Gardner line, which is my direct line. Thanks.
SAMcClellan
PO Bx 585
Arlington, OR 97812
artogo4u@yahoo.com
(please use this yahoo addy)

Agnes Bloomer married John Stewart - re Scotland

Looking for family connections for the following information:

Agnes Bloomer, born approx. 1866/67, somewhere in Scotland. Married John Stewart, born 1850-1860? somewhere in Scotland.

Agnes Bloomer Stewart, one son named Peter, (born 1892), and one daughter, Agnes Ruth (born 1895) are shown arriving through Ellis Island on January 15, 1896. I have not yet located when or where John Stewart arrived.

There is also another son, George. He was born approximately 1894, and may have come with his father.

On Agnes Ruth Stewart's obituary, it says she was born in Birmingham, Alabama, so I am assuming this might be where the family settled for a while. However, most of her birth information was wrong (wrong year, wrong location), so I don't know if Alabama is right or not.

Agnes Ruth Stewart went on to marry Carl Walter Meigs.

Does anyone have any information concerning Agnes Bloomer and/or John Stewart at all?
BLOOMER, ROLLER, SLOAN, NEAL & WEBB FAMILIES of SCOTT CO., VA.

Who was "APP" ROLLER of Scott Co., VA? ("App" most likely was a nickname). The only known fact I have on "App" is that he was the father of IDA TENNESSEE ROLLER.
"App" was probably born between 1863-1872.

Ida's mother was MARTELIA BLOOMER, daughter of DOCTOR OREGON BLOOMER & NANCY NEAL (NEIL?). It is not known if "App" & Martelia were actually married as a Record of Marriage has yet to be found. However, Martelia is listed as a Widow at her second marriage!

IDA T. ROLLER was born 4 Sep 1887 in Fairview, Scott Co. It is surmised that "App" dies soon after this date as Martelia (widow) remarries in 1889 to ARTHER A. SLOAN (note - Martelia marries a third time, in 1892, to GEORGE W. WEBB, son of HARRISON WEBB & ELIZABETH ROLLER). My suspicions are that "App" was somehow related to ELIZABETH ROLLER!

... I am seeking ANY information on "APP" ROLLER, ,,, i.e.BIRTH & DEATH dates?, Cause of Death?, His GIVEN NAME?, His PARENTS ? & ANCESTRY?, etc?.

Also, when Martelia marries George W. Webb, she again is listed as a Widow. Does anyone know the death date of ARTHUR A. SLOAN &/or the circumstances of his death?......................
THANKS for you help! .... I have no use for this album but am sure that someone else would enjoy it. Ideally the family decendants will contact me and claim the album.

Cynthia Bloomer Christian??

I have an ancestor named Bloomer Christian, born Dec., 1838. Since 'Bloomer' is an unusual first name, I suspect he may have been given his mother's or grandmother's maiden name. I'm looking for a link to the Bloomer surname.

Bloomer's mother was Cynthia ??, born abt. 1804, and married to James Christian, born abt. 1811. In 1850 the Christians were living in Greene County, New York. James had been born there, but Cynthia (although born in New York) had moved to Greene County around 1828. James and Cynthia had seven children: George, David, Bloomer, Jeremiah, Electa, Mary Jane and Sophia born between 1835 and 1852.

I'd be most grateful for any information that will help me figure out where Bloomer's name came from. Thanks!!

Louise Jones (joneslnw@aol.com)

Bloomer researchers claim that John Bloomer and Abigail were the parents of Abraham, Robert, Hester, Abbie, Phebe, Sarah, Hannah, Betsy, and Daniel. Has anyone found evidence that this is true? Did these people live in the same area? Migrate together? Attend the same church? I find nothing to tie these people together.
Thank you,
Katherine Seiders

Who was James Bloomer?

Looking for an info on a James Bloomer who was married to a Susan or Sussanah Magee.......They probably would have been married in Ontario Canada (but I could be wrong)
I have an old family bible with his name in the back, I have reason to believe he may have been my gggrandmother Sussanah Magee first husband. If he died and left her a widow, he probably would have been in his late 20- early 30's at time of death, as I belive Susannah married my gggrandfather Andrew Miller in 1860 and was 32 at the time.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Carrie

May 16, 1786 Bennington, Vermont, and John Bloomer, Sr. b. 1787 Bennington, Vermont) shown on the 1850 censes in Mayville, Chautauqua, New York. They moved to New York from Vermont first stopping in Cherry Valley for a numbers of years. Does anyone know who there father was? Several of us “THINK” it is Robert but we can not “PROOVE” it.
